Now that the infamous Animals Deluxe Edition has been announce and there are 2 separate threads on this I would like to have a third, if the mods/sods would allow it.
For those Pink Floyd fan boys/girls who hate or dislike Animals as one of their least favorite PF album will you be purchasing the new remixed Animals just to have in your Floyd collection? And if so which format/version will you be getting?
For those who like/love Animals feel free to join in. You can comment that you like or hate the album if you wish.

I love the vinyl I already own. Not really that interested in listening to music in 5.1 all that much. I’m sure I’m in the minority, but I prefer vinyl over everything else when it comes to the music I grew up with.

 

I have the UK first press, that's enough for me.

 

I'm not down with any Pink Floyd survey that doesn't have Syd as answer option.

I'd be fine with just the CD. It's disappointing that this album was overlooked when they were adding "Experience Edition" bonus discs a decade ago or so. (That would have been nice for Meddle too.)

 

Let's see, I've bought the CD in the 90's, the 2016 vinyl a few years ago. I think I may just grab the Blu while it's available. Seems like something that will be hard to find in a few short years.

 

Where is the "none" option? Wont pay for a vinyl that comes with 3 CDs inside, plus a hideous cover, instead of the amazing original one.

 

With nothing else going on with this release, if anything, I'm just going to grab the Blu-ray.

Not so. I’m a fan guy of TD and I dislike a lot of their 150+ albums they’ve put out in the last 50+ years. But I still buy them.

 

Not interested at all now. Only a surround sound fan would want this. I think most people here will hate the remix. If it came with bonus studio material and or a live show I might think differently. Maybe some vinyl fans would want the remix on vinyl only for their Floyd collection.

 

Agree. I wish had bonus material and or a live gig with this one. It’s too bad it’s not like the immersion sets. But I still bought it as Animals is my favorite Floyd album.

I'm a bit "meh" on Animals, but I might just pick up the CD because I like the new cover.

 

My answer is ‘none’.
I love everything Pink Floyd up to and including ‘Wish You Were Here’.
I had ‘Animals’ on both vinyl and the original CD.
However, as I find the album both cold and unpleasant I got rid of both and I have absolutely no desire to hear it ever again.
I even find the following two albums worse and I got rid of those too.
I don’t need albums that make me feel bad.

I don't hate or dislike Animals, but it's not one of Floyd's best IMHO. Nevertheless I'm getting the Blu-ray if I'm getting anything. Although I might spring for the whole set from Burning Shed since the price is so tempting. But my priority is the 5.1 mix, and if the new stereo mix is really any good, I wouldn't mind the LP.

 

I'm referring to the definition of what "fanboy" is. A fanboy, AFAIK, is someone who gushes about everything related to (in this case) a band. If so, you're using the wrong term which would explain my confusion.
