Woke up this morning with ' Suite Judy Blue Eyes ' buzzing in my head . So I had to play it. So I had to play the ' Cros by Stills & Nash ' album. So I had to play ' Deja Vu ' and then some Buffalo Springfield. Then into some solo Stills . And now I'm in a Stephen Stills spin and there's no end in sight.
There's worse ways to spend a Saturday.

Love that Manassas double. It’s a shame the Stills Hillman partnership didn’t last.

Now , it ' s a funny thing you mentioning them because , as we speak , I 'm playing the ' Manassas ' album right now.
Weird thing about that album though is that I could never really get into it. It just doesn't click with me. A few good songs but...it could easily have been trimmed down to single album length.
But !I 'm playin ' it anyway because it's Stephen Stills day here.

Suddenly only one artist will do.

How bout side 2 of Super Session with Al Kooper. Three cool covers Dylan’s “it Takes a A lot to Laugh and a Train to Cry”, Donovan’s “Season of the Witch “ and Wille Cobb’s You don’t love me”. Great Stills guitar work that is under appreciated because of Mike Bloomfield on side 1.

I’m a hard case who feels it’s all over after Manassas, but Springfield to Manassas is a pretty great run.

Good call! I use to hear You Don’t Love Me every Saturday night as the theme tune to the RTL rock show when I lived in France as an exchange student.

I have to say the mix/mastering of this song on the new Woodstock 10 CD set is a revelation. That version never sounded so good.

    That’s what I’m saying: 1966 to 1972 Stills rules.

This is pretty much it, though I'm not crazy about Stephen Stills 2 outside of a few songs. And after 1972 we have at least five good songs on Down the Road, a handful on Stills, 2-3 on Illegal Stills, at least two on Long May You Run, and maybe three songs on the CSN album. After that, it was rough waters, consistency-wise.

Somebody gave me a CD-R of something of his called ' Just Roll Tape ' which I'm listening to now. Don't know anything about it. Anyone?

It's a demo reel off Stills' from 1968. I haven't heard it, but I imagine it's great because he was on fire at that time!

Thanks to you as well. That sheds light on the darkness.
It's quite good considering it's on the fly so to speak.

I remember Rolling Stone panning the first solo and I put off getting it for that ( stupid ) reason.
Got it a few years later and it was fine.
Sometimes Rolling Stone...well, never mind. I don 't wantt o get in a negative space and ruin my Stills-buzz.
