Another great country crossover from 1981, interestingly this Top 20 pop hit didn't top the country charts - "Somebody's Knockin'" by Terri Gibbs:
This made the lower reaches of the Hot 100 in 1983, but it should have been a much bigger hit. Here's one of my favorite songs by Carly Simon, "You Know What to Do":
When this came out, I thought it was impossibly wimpy. I revisited it years later and found that it had grown on me to the point that I find it moving. From 1989, here's Tommy Page's #29 hit, "A Shoulder to Cry On":
