Frankenstein: The True Story

    The original title was Dr. Victor Frankenstein or something to that effect and the writers were not happy about the change.

    It's only out in the USA at present.
    I've just tried to buy it on amazon and import it but they are cutting back on exporting to the Europe due to stock shortages

    Yes, I loved that series. I was too young to remember him as Ilya Kuryakin, though!

    Yeah, I had the same issue when I tried to buy "Phase IV" from Amazon UK.

    This is one of the few films were ‘big name’ guest stars don’t get in the way and distract from the overall effect: Ralph Richardson is superb as De Lacey and John Gielgud impresses as the Chief of Police (and Gielgud himself played De Lacey in a later television adaptation). Michael Wilding is chiefly remembered today for being Elizabeth Taylor’s first husband, though, and his then-wife Margaret Leighton has a nice cameo as an opera guest.
