Didn't Peter already start the machine in our universe? (or was that the machine in the other universe when he was over there?).

That does makes sense. Walternate's interference, using part of Peter's DNA, could have mucked up Peter's ability to interact with the machine on our side.

Theory: Got a feeling now that since only a portion of Peter's DNA was used on the other side, that the machine may have readjusted itself to need "Oliviate's" DNA to fill in the missing DNA blanks in order to fully operate. It could be by premeditated design, or by accident, that "Oliviate" is the real key, and sacrifices her life to save one or both (or a third!) universes.

Don't mean to be so out there, recently reacquainting myself with the world of comics (after 30 years!), where anything and everything wacky is possible.

Where were The Observers during this "critical" moment? No sign of September or the others or did I miss them? You think having the doomsday machine start-up would draw at least one of them.

The writing has had some real holes the last few episodes...well longer, but you know what I mean. Still looking forward to the season finale.

Yeah, I thought so too. Not the whole machine, but the part that latched on to his wrist when he touched it.

  6. Wow. We get a lot of answers (or not since the show suddenly jumps ten years in the future).

Which future? Is it a mixing of the red and blue universes, or a new universe created from ours when Peter used the machine? Too bad there's just one more episode left this season.

Great ending last night. I'm not quite sure where this is going, but couldn't quit thinking about it after the show ended. That must mean I liked it.

Is it just a dream or vision?

A very hairy Walternate seemed very pissed in the previews for next week.

    just a fabulous show.

  13. I have the feeling it's a mixture of the two based on the preview.

A very Alias episode. Oliva's face on the document, just like Rambaldi page 47 (I think) that had Sydney on it. And the search for the machine is a lot like Sloan, Derevko, Esposito etc. seeking out Rambaldi machines. . . .

That said, was pretty good. Not as compelling as the "fantastic LSD voyage into Olivia's brain" episode. I'm hoping the finale next week is a big BANG.

Feh ... just an incredibly boring episode that seemed to meander along at an insufferable pedestrian pace.

Who, what, or where is Peter? Is Peter the "Billy Pilgrim", or the "Desmond Hume" of the "Fringe" universe? Or "Cygnus, the God of Balance"? Lots to ponder till next year.

YES! As usual, NOW I'm on board! With the two Walters and Olivias 'hanging out', dealing with each other.... now, THAT'S gonna be a cool show.
Now, let's just hope it's still on for a new season!

    It already is.

  24. Clearly Peter's only role was to unite the two universes to work together to solve their problems--but there's a major paradox WHY are they united to heal the universe when Walter's main reason for going into the alternate one (and causing the problems in the first place) ceases to exist--mainly Peter?

Also, what's with the "First People" being Walter or someone else from Fringe division who goes back into the past to bury parts of the machine? Did "we" manufacture it or did the Baldos (or Observers) do so as part of this "test"?

Clearly the Baldos were inspired by The Watchers from the Fantastic Four comics.

The big question--if no one remembers Peter now (which is what they stated at the conclusion) then what event makes them remember him and bring him back?

Yes, since the actor is signed for another season and yes there has to be otherwise there's the entire paradox that exists--he brought them together but, more importantly, was the cause of the rips between the two universes (or the motivation for Walter to go through).

More like which Walter will Peter choose. I think we know the answer.
