Grateful Dead (Studio albums, though I have most of the official live albums too)

Jimi Hendrix (If we just count his output while he was alive, and not all of the posthumous compilations/live albums, though I have a number of each)

    Led Zeppelin
    Billy Joel
    Stevie Ray Vaughan
Tedeschi Trucks Band (So far, at least...)

Might find my way to all of Tom Petty’s albums, but I don’t have them all yet.

    ... and of course,

    Blind Faith
    Derek & The Dominos

I was incredibly strict with my line of thinking - no 1 album bands, no all but that one album, no insert favorite era with different lineup

Out of these, Porcupine Tree definitely is the most impressive. I love a lot of records more than the entire discography from them, but they had a run of 10 albums, multiple EPs and live albums that I would like to listen to.

I included Hendrix too, with the caveat that I don’t own every single posthumous collection. But all of the output while he was alive (Including Band of Gypsys)? Oh hell yeah.

Have a lot of Clapton, but with him but I lose interest in his 80s output. Nice Blues revival for a time in the 90s, and haven’t cared for much since. Last album I bought from him was (His collaboration with B.B.) Riding with the King. 20 years ago now!

Wanted to include the Allmans, and almost could, but the Arista years were pretty dreadful. Also missing a live album or two.

I bought it on the day of its release. What a desappointment!
However, I listened to it and listened to it again and again.
Today, it's still one of the records I listen to because it contains what I like most about music, songs like "arrows", "house of broken dreams", "yours and mine", "haven't we lost enough", "got to keep it open" are what I love to listen.

Wow collecting Hopkins full catalogue sounds daunting.
I seem to recall a 7CD box set out some years ago that a local Sanity store kept reducing and couldn't sell as they slowly shut their doors!

I think I've got 6 or 7 releases including those officially unofficial live releases. I'll list them later when I've got a better handle on them. I hope you understand the delay. All my releases are on cd. There I none I have that aren't worthwhile to essential.

The only artist I'm going for a fully complete (non-compilation) discography of is Laura Nyro. I've got all of her contemporary albums in stereo and mono where applicable, and I'm working on the singles now. Once that's done, polishing up the posthumous live releases will still take the collection to less than 50 pieces.

Me too. I love Deep Purple except for one album, which I have on vinyl and CD. I have two Allmans albums I will never play again and I have them on vinyl and CD.

It's a bit of a sickness and I need to get over it.

Counting just studio albums, EPs, singles, b-sides, officially released outtakes and demos (and many that aren't officially released ; ), but not necessarily all live albums and/or compilations/best-ofs, and not counting bands I love but which only have a few albums (e.g. Bind Melon, Guns 'n' Roses), I'm a completist for:

    The Black Crowes
Black Sabbath (only Ozzy albums though)
    Blue Oyster Cult
    Cake
    Cracker
    Creedence
Dire Straits + Mark Knopfler solo
Drivin' 'n' Cryin' + Kevn Kinney solo
    David Gray
    Kings Of Leon
    Zep
Skynyrd (only with Ronnie, everything since is a joke)
    Pearl Jam
    Tom Petty (+ Mudcrutch)
Pink Floyd + Gilmour solo + Waters solo
    Red Hot Chili Peppers
    R.E.M.
    Stones
    Rush
    Springsteen
    Izzy Stradlin
Van Halen (Roth albums only - the rest are "Van Hagar," i.e. a different band, IMO)
    Violent Femmes

In the case of the Stones, I buy them more out of an odd sense of obligation, given it's mostly been crap since 1981. With Springsteen, he still sometimes pleasantly surprises (as with Western Stars, and the handful of good songs on most of the albums since Tunnel Of Love), but I really only consistently listen to his '73 - '87 output.

Other bands I might have been completists for had their output not gotten so embarrassingly awful that I finally stopped buying new stuff, such as Aerosmith.
