If I'm a fan of someone, I want everything.. though I do struggle to pick up all the live albums that may exist.

    Wow, that's insane ! :nyah:
    :D

I don't have that one, you must be referring to 'The Complete Bluesville Recordings'. There's so much to find and a lot is out of print. What I reallly was looking for is a sealed edition of
the Lost Texas Tapes 5 CD Set
    (199O, Collectibles).

I already have the 4-CD box
'From the Vaults of Everest Records'
    (2OOO, Collectables ‎– COL-CD-0094)
and several 2-CD sets on other labels.
It is a daunting task, especially since I typically only buy unopened copies (with very rare exception).

The Dead. It's near impossible but I'm almost there.

I would love to get the complete catalogue of Hawkwind but there are so many studio albums, live albums, limited editions and compilations of rarities - and even some of the Atomhenge reissues and more recent studio albums are out of print!

None. I would rather have the better albums by a greater number of artists.

john lennonist There ONCE was a NOTE, PURE and EASY...

Beatles and The Who for those with large discographies

John Lennon solo, Doors, Cream, Hendrix, Duane-era Allman Bros., mabye a couple of others for those with small discographies

Kinks, Jethro Tull, Stones, Floyd, Zeppelin, etc. -- all of the early stuff up to the point where they jumped the shark for me

Neil Young and Dylan -- I have most of their stuff, but no interest in certain releases like "Trans," "Slow Train Coming" (both of which I once had but sold off), etc.

  9. This makes logical sense. Unfortunately logic is not why we do this. It’s more akin to a sickness -one I’m happy to be infected by.

Wow, that's a surprise, something you won't read every day! I saw him live a couple times in the mid 1980's. Had a blast at those shows.

His albums, on the other hand...not sure what to think. How do you like "Left For Dead"?

His first 3 albums are pretty good, the last 3 not so much. "Left For Dead" I rarely play anymore

The problem for me is that if I like someone, I typically like everything they did, plus what I consider the best albums by an artist are often not what most other people consider the best albums, so I need to be pretty familiar with someone's entire output to decide . . . and by then I just have the complete discography. :D
