That is the trouble. Which is why the 5-piece Genesis should get their act together

I'd like to see Coldplay playing the full X&Y album.
Or going back to their roots with complete performances of the Safety, Brothers & Sisters and Blue Room EPs. All totally unlikely to happen, of course.

The Moody Blues toured Days Of Future Passed for the fiftieth anniversary. They also released a live album from one of those concerts.

I’ve seen a few of these, and usually they have been anniversary tours.

off the top of my head:

Embrace - The Good Will Out
Paul Draper (Mansum) - Attack Of Tye Grey Lantern
Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible
Manic Street Preachers - Everything Must Go
Manic Street Preachers - If You Tolerate This…
    Ash - Free All Angels
Brian Wilson Presents Pet Sounds Live

They can be pretty good gigs, usually followed by a greatest hits set afterwards.

sometimes the band mix up the running order, sometimes they play them as the album running order.

In terms of what I would want to see. It would either be The Bends or OK Computer - but can’t see that ever happening.

WIESS and Astral Weeks on consecutive posts? Seems a bit redundant.
I would want to see Jackson Browne do all of Late For The Sky.

Pearl Jam have occasionally played an album back to back but they play a different set every gig and they never announce a full album is going to be played. Over the years they've played 10, No Code, Yield and their self titled album (aka Avocado), probably a couple of the others too.

This thread is about three years late. The trend wore out its welcome, and at this point I just want to experience something live on stage — no gimmickry required

That said, I dream about hearing Gary Numan tackle his '81 album Dance front to back, with buddies Trent Reznor and Pino Palladino lending a hand — that would be pretty awesome!

Actually I'm less pissed off about worrying about Yes forgetting how to play Relayer than missing out on Föllakzoid, for whom I also had a ticket but which was too covid cancelled and hasn't been rearranged.

John Martyn playing Solid Air live, just a few years before he died. He had to sit down to play, minus one foot. He could really still play.

"Recent" trend is kinda pushing it. This was really popular maybe 10 years ago.

First shows like this I attended like this were in 1998, when Cheap Trick played their first three albums in full in three consecutive nights. One of the best concert experiences of my life.

Floyd has done Dark Side a number of times over the years (1974 and 1994 to name two) and did Wish You Were Here during the 77 tour.

Saw ex-Come frontwoman Thalia Zedek perform her solo debut "Been Here and Gone" in full last night for its 20th anniversray reissue. Was great, and she had 3/4 of Come onstage.

REM reunites and does Life's Rich Pageant or The Replacements reunite and do Tim.

Otherwise I'll take Neil Young and Crazy Horse doing Rust Never Sleeps.

Since McCartney’s voice couldn’t really handle the vocal work he performed on it anymore, I’d like to see some band or artist perform “Ram” live in it’s entirety. Maybe several different artists like one of those tribute albums, or - better yet - a dedicated Macca tribute act.

I saw Springsteen play The River on his last tour and it was glorious. He brought me to tears on the last two minutes of the title track.
He did a double album and then the show started. Once of the best shows I've ever seen,
