How do you do it Homer? How do you ignore that little voice in your head that says 'Thiiiink'?

Maybe not the funniest, but I absolutely loved the "One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Bluefish" episode, where Homer eats bad fish and gets a death sentence. In the last scenes, he says goodbye to the family while they're asleep, watched Larry King read the Bible and finally passes out. We think he died. It was quite touching, actually. So Marge wakes him up the next day- he's alive! Then Homer vows to live life to its fullest. In typical Homer fashion, he is soon back on the couch watching a bowling tournament and eating pork rinds during the credits.

    Perfect! That's what Americans do.

  5. The show is already on auto-pilot and practically a parody of itself these days. Disney can't make it any worse. They hired a young wave of Millennial writers a couple years ago and the show's humor has never been the same.

This is one thing millenials cannot be blamed for - the show has been really poor for many, many years - this isn't something that just happened recently.

  7. True, the show has been a zombie version of itself for many years at this point. But Al Jean and company finally put a stake through its creative heart a couple of years ago. That's led to decisions like Apu getting removed.

That is one of the best episodes! So many great scenes. Love when Mr. Burns pinch hits for Strawberry to "play the percentages" and Strawberry says "but I got 9 homeruns today."

"Hi. I'm Troy McClure. You might remember me from such TV series as "Buck Henderson, Union Buster" and "Troy and Company's Summertime Smile Factory". Today I'm here to tell you about "Spiffy.", the 21st century stain remover."

Hartman was an absolute genius at what he did. He's on the short list of Hollywood actors and celebrities that whose death really, really affected me.

The two funniest Simpsons episodes I can recall were: "The Computer Wore Menace Shoes," which was the one where Homer basically finds himself as The Prisoner inside the 1960s Village prison (like the Patrick MacNee TV series); and then "You Only Move Twice," where Homer goes to work for Blofeld at SPECTRE headquarters. Both were brilliant satires and just had me on the floor laughing.

More Troy McClure: " Hi, I'm Troy McClure, You may remember me from such movies as The Revenge of Abe Lincoln and the Wackiest Covered Wagon in the West." Also "Hi, I'm Troy McClure, You may remember me from such shows as P is for Psycho and The President's Neck is Missing."

No matter how much people dislike The Simpsons after a certain point, there are always gems in later episodes like the one I posted above. Makes me laugh every time.
