How did Live Licks go with the about face?
Not all El Mocambo boots sound bad.
Sure, but the rest of the album is literally the aural equivalent of a still life painting, so I guess the Stones knew what they were doing when they named it.
This is the one I found on Youtube:
It's a soundboard, but barely listenable (at least the interesting songs like "Crazy Mama" and "Hand Of Fate"). It's obviously pulled from several sources, but there isn't a nice-sounding complete recording. It's cool someone pieced this together, but it's not something I'd listen to more than once unless a better source came out or the band released it as a Vault release. Which I still think they will one day. (Maybe a "club shows" set, with the already-released 2005 Toronto show and a few other small-venue gigs they've done over the years)
That’s a total shame, both are GREAT songs, especially Jigsaw Puzzle has always been a real favorite. I guess it’s too self-consciously self referential to work as a live track.
I personally hate Dear Doctor with Jagger's hick voice.
Ha. I hear you Dave but for Philly 72 I would give my best attempt to gag down some Brussel sprouts! Lol
the mussels from brussels
Oh No, Not This Again
I can think of a nearly infinite number of setlists I’d prefer over this at a club show.
Would be cool to get one more club show where they dig deep get some rarities out
"Memory Motel" from Bridges to Bremen is fantastic.
Jagger seems to have missed one of the verses out but it was great to hear Keith sing his parts!
For that, I would eat them for a month!
I was at one of the Philly 72 evening shows and as we were getting up to leave after seeing the historic Stones-Wonder collaborations on “Uptight” and “Satisfaction,” a Spectrum announcer told the assembled masses that the night’s show had been recorded for an upcoming LP. Obviously, not to be but there’s a soundboard recording somewhere....
Interestingly though there were 3 Philly shows in 72' almost every boot ever issued includes Texan cuts and is not a 100% Philly selection.
Part of the problem seems to be that not all title selections played on those dates circulate whilst plenty of cuts do twice or thrice from those dates.
Ha...I’m hoping tonight’s Md show with “Have Mercy” gets released next week!
Hey, it’s in the vault now... let’s get it!
2005 could use attention.
Anything from the beginning of the A Bigger Bang tour.
Check out "Light the Fuse."
I think the Bigger Bang 4 DVD set is going to be reissued; at least I remember reading something like that in one of the press releases.
I hope CDs are included!
Pulling a move they pulled for Totally Stripped?
Plus adding full shows of Pittsburgh '05, Seattle '06, Vancouver '06 which ever others are in snippets?
Expect it to be full shows like the Voodoo Lounge Miami,
I am skeptical they are going to release that box on CD. It will probably be a DVD project, like Stripped.
The audio for those were released digitally but i'd think these will be full show releases like the voodoo lounge one and i think Bridges to Bremen has replaced St Louis unless they release that years later
