Do we really want to see that?

(Well, seeing Tywin Lannister shot with a crossbow whilst sitting on the bog was satisfying...)

I wonder why just 7 episodes. Would that mean that each of the 7 episodes would have a bigger budget? They can put more money in CGI stuff in each episode compared to a full 10 episode season? If they are planning on doing between 6 and 8 episodes for season 8, I wonder if the finale will be an epic 1.5 hour episode. for the upcoming 2 season left, I can see the writer's really putting money in CGI where the white walkers are concerned. Especially if there are going to be big fights with dragons, walkers, ships etc. When all the season are complete and HBO puts the series to bed, I wonder if all the seasons are going to be released in a huge blu ray box set with added goodies.

    Less episodes, less cost.

I'm sure there will be a complete series on blu-ray.

I think they were originally planning to wrap up the story in seven regular seasons, then this evolved into splitting the last full season into two shortened seasons (as was done with Breaking Bad and Mad Men). So instead of getting ten more episodes, we're getting 13, and there's a chance that some of them may be extended length episodes.

It would be pretty cool if someone engineered a show using nothing but cast members from GOT.
It could be set in the future, with the characters being mostly similar to who they were in GOT.

Just realized the guy's name is "Benioff" after rewatching the first season.

It's been awhile and gave me a different perspective on Daenerys' ability to withstand heat and her brother's inability. Other than that, it's still a great show and, in some ways, to the spirit of the books, the first season has not (and probably won't) be surpassed.

Undeniably true. But from what I've read about the production of the show, it's more a matter of time. It's already a year-long production, and epic-scale episodes like "Battle of the Bastards" inflate the schedule to the breaking point. The creators claim this smaller season represents the limit that they can produce, and I'm inclined to believe them.

    Not that I like it.
