This is a curious piece of equipment I picked up in an estate sale recently (along with a Nakamichi Dragon and other choice items, whee). The back panel has stereo RCA ins and outs, along with a "signal" connection, the icon above it suggests a radio antenna for an AM, not FM signal. The front panel has an on/off switch, a "suppressor" in/out switch, and a variable control for the suppressor. I cannot find any information on this on the internet.
    Model MRM 101.

Now, very curiously, I am finding some information on the internet, when my previous search got nothing. It appears to be a "pop and tick" remover for vinyl, but I find no explanation of the antenna connection. Anyone have any experience with this?

No, its not. It was made around 1977 and was featured on a episode of the BBC popular science TV series 'Tomorrows World'. I quite remember watching it in my teens over here. If anybody has access to a HiFi Year Book from 77/78 I'm sure you'll find a lot of information on it.

    Regards,

Don't tell me you picked up a Nak Dragon cassette deck for $20! Mine cost me a bit of money.

This sounds like the SAE 5000 Impulse Noise Reduction unit, which I owned for about 1 week before returning it and getting a refund from Tech Hifi in the late 70's. The SAE unit was supposed to eliminate the pop and clicks on LPs but did not seem to be very effective.

I picked up a carload of stuff, so the Nakamichi probably comes to at least $100 when everything is estimated.

You can easily unload your Nak Dragon on eBay for at least $600.
