I'm playing a gig in January and just for the hell of it, I called up Gene Parsons to ask him if he'd back me on the pedal steel guitar. I didn't even expect to get a call back from him and tonight when we got home he was on the answering machine and he said he would be interested in doing it!! AWESOME!!

Damn good singer, too. I love his reading of "There Must Be Someone" on the Ballad of Easy Rider album.

I should do a Byrds cover with him!! Any ideas? It's an acoustic show.

You're close enough, Jeff. Y'all should come up and see the show! Of course I'll put you on the list. Once I have everything in place, I'll post a flier for the show for all the NorCal members.

I hope this works out. I love Gene Parsons!

Well, Gunga Din is the obvious choice since it's one of the few Byrds tunes Gene wrote and it's a great song, maybe the best song on the Ballad of Easy Rider album.
