Maybe they could do a medley of all the instrumentals on the second album of The Lamb. That would give Phil a long rest. They could release it as an excerpted live album later, to join The Longs and The Shorts: "Genesis: The fillers".

Or maybe Genesis: Counting Out Time

    (I wish they'd play that).

Genesis have always known how to put on a great show. I expect Phil will have a jetpack.

As it looks like it’s happening, I’ve bitten the bullet and am going to Birmingham. Hope I don’t regret, never seen them before and it’s my last chance. Does anyone know if the tickets are sent via post or email? Not been confirmed and only days away.

Mine were emailed to me last week and I simply printed them.

Or as I said several pages back, he could play additional electronic drums on a keyboard...

He could... but I wouldn't count on it.

Footage from the documentary has him just sitting there while the rest of band play Cinema Show, for instance. No electronic drums in sight.

Take that article with a huge grain of salt:

"The Last Domino? tour will feature "a majority" of material from the Peter Gabriel era".

    Yeah, right!

My personal belief is, yes, Genesis will cease to exist after the tour... but the tour will still extend into 2022. They're just waiting to see how the first shows go, before adding any additional dates.

If you take into consideration the original plan, the tour would have likely ended by now. There's probably enough invested in the planning to keep them from further postponing or cancelling dates, but taking into consideration Phil's health issues, the idea of prolonging things seems a bit slim.

Yeah, you'd need to see the actual Mojo story, rather than the story this blog cribbed from it.

In 2007, EVERY song was in a lower key, except for Follow You Follow Me & Hold On My Heart.

Despite the Mojo article, I still predict they'll add some more shows in 2022. Not an entire year's worth, but another handful. Maybe 15-25 more shows after the new year. It really all depends on how Phil gets through next week once the tour finally begins.

I sure hope so. I'd love for them to come to the South so we can see them one last time.

I think they dropped a "their" there:

The Last Domino ? tour will feature a majority of their material from the Peter Gabriel era.

I mean, there's probably not enough time in one concert to play it all. So what songs do we think they won't play? I'll start: More Fool Me.

I'm pretty sure they mean "a majority of the usually=played songs from that era." Which would be Lamb, Cage, Cinema, IKWIL, Carpet Crawlers and maybe a surprise like Musical Box.

I'm not taking the chance. I'm in Florida and booked a trip to Philly to catch the tour. If they add more shows locally, then cool... bonus!

That being said, the tour is missing some major US markets:

    Miami
    Tampa
    Atlanta
    Nashville
    Dallas
    Houston
    St Louis
    Denver
    Las Vegas
    Los Angeles
    San Francisco
    Portland
    Seattle

and maybe they'd add a few shows for Japan, Australia, and South America.

Who knows? (Well... Tony Smith knows!)

I agree, but "this blog" is actually the web presence of several music magazines, including Classic Rock and Prog.

I was honestly fully expecting this to happen. He categorically says that the Boston date will be the last and it’s hard to change Phil’s mind. I’m glad I got great tickets to London and will see the last show in UK soil.

For his part, Banks seems open to the option of prolonging the band’s life.

“I think it depends a little bit how it goes,” the keyboardist tells Mojo. “How Phil stands up to it all. How the audience receive it, and how we all feel about it, really.”

…poor choice of words, wasn’t it?

I'll go against the tide and be a bit positive here.

Fantastic shot of the boys from The Guardian. This is what should have been used for the promos, all of them look great here.

I received The Last Domino CD today... I didn't need it, I know, but I wanted it.

What I will say is that for a cash grab, this is actually great value.

Some great rehearsal photos in there - of the standard usually seen in the souvenir programs which cost > £25 (maybe more, I haven't bought one in years!)

So for £10.99 for 2CDs plus the photos... bargain! Spend your money on this instead of a program.

    (...although I still want a t-shirt...)
