A Trick of the Tail got robbed (and assaulted and battered) and we are now down to our final pair - two consecutive albums by the 5 man lineup.

Remember to vote for your least favorite: the one you wish to vote off.

DQ - what would have been your final pair?

We will do a follow up "vote for your fav" round after this to see if it comes out the same way

    Voted off so far:
    2x2 Rounds:
    Calling All Stations (159 votes)
    We Cant Dance (96)
    ---------------------------------------
    Invisible Touch (69)
    From Genesis To Revelation (63)
    ---------------------------------------
    Genesis (83)
    Abacab (79)

    1x1
And Then There Were Three (62)
    Duke (73)
    Trespass (64)
    Wind & Wuthering (81)
    Nursery Cryme (58)
The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (66)
A Trick of the Tail (86)

I would have had Trespass beating Selling England as my final pair

Selling England By The Pound was my first Genesis album, and will always be my favourite. Always.

    Toodles, Foxtrot!

Foxtrot. SEBTP is too emotionally attached to my life. And it's so beautiful.

Edit: my final pair would have been Duke vs. Selling England, with Duke being voted out.

    Foxtrot.

My final pairing would have been:

A Trick Of The Tail and Wind & Wuthering

But there are many great genesis albums by every incarnation of the band.

I voted off Selling England By The Pound.

    Foxtrot
was the first Genesis I ever bought (back in 1975) and to this day remains my absolute favorite of theirs.

Exactly what we ended up with!

And for the record I have no problem with either "The Battle of Epping Forest" or "More Fool Me" but it took years for me to like them.
With the entirety of Foxtrot, however, it was instant love from the first listen. And, yes, that includes "Time Table"!

It's agony - but I voted to sell off England and retain Foxtrot.

I have to have "Supper's Ready", the yardstick by which all other progressive rock has be judged. Not only that, but there is "Watcher", "Time Table" and "Can Utility". SEBTP is brilliant in its own way, but I think Foxtrot is more consistently so.

My final pairing would have been Foxtrot and The Lamb.

What's the bet there will be at least one person who does not read this, votes the wrong way and then whines afterwards? So many people don't read the OP. When I create a thread, I consider myself lucky if people even read the title.

Tough choice, how can I vote off such a great album that has "Supper's Ready" and "Get 'em out by Friday" Going to have to... SEBTP wins, just..

Since I included the "change your vote" option anyone whining would have to be, to quote a former secretary of state, a "f-ing m-ron".

Saving Foxtrot but a very close call. Foxtrot was the first Genesis album I heard, a friend recorded it for me on a c120 cassette tape with Wish You Were Here on the other side. I’ve probably still got it somewhere.

I prefer Selling England over Foxtrot, so there's my vote.

DQ: I would have The Lamb win over Trick.

    I voted out Selling ...

There isn't a track on Foxtrot that I am even mildly not happy with, and I am not the biggest fan of I know What I like (I don't hate it, but I had to separate the albums somehow)

    I don't think I could have a top two ....
My top five (which is as lean as I can get them) are
    Nursery Cryme
    Foxtrot
    Selling England
    Lamb
    ATTWT

Yea, I know, I'm just a bad person

I agree that is the weakest track on the album, I think it's similar to Get 'em out by Friday.

Selling England By The Pound is the winner for me.

A Trick Of The Tail would have been my runner-up.

SEBTP got voted off. I love the album. Love it, but Supper's Ready is to Genesis what Echoes is to Floyd. Supper's Ready is just too epic to get a vote off. Plus this .....

A tie this round for me, therefore, didn't vote one off since both are inferior to my final pairing.

DQ - Final pairing would be The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway sides 1 and 2 versus 3 and 4 (or in cee dee speak, disc 1 vs disc 2) :shh:

I like both, but Foxtrot has a ominous side to it that I am attracted to (just like Nursery Cryme had, my favorite of theirs).

I would think it's more analogous to Procol Harum's "In Held 'Twas in I."

Selling gets my vote to leave this round.

My final would have been Foxtrot over And Then There Were Three (though Nursery Cryme, Trick and Wind are close to #2).

There's no More Fool Me on Foxtrot, so I'm voting Selling England off again.

DQ - my final pair would be "Nursery Cryme" X "Wind And Wuthering" and the former would win.
