    Foxtrot.

My final pair would have been The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway and Selling England By the Pound.

Foxtrot would be my third favourite.

SEBTP. Might have voted the other way, but Foxtrot is the closest thing to Cryme.

My final pair would have been SEBTP and Lamb.

Foxtrot has some great stuff, but also the OK-ish Get 'Em Out By Friday and what I consider to be awful - Time Table.

As good a place as any to send a happy birthday out to Steve Hackett. That's someone I think we can all agree we won't vote off.

These two albums are pretty much dead even for me. I could go either way. Love them both dearly. That said, when asked, I usually say "Foxtrot" is my favorite. This could be because I owned it first, or because of "Supper's Ready", or "Horizons", which is such a nice piece of music, or "Time Table", which I also adore yet strangely was never played live.

I think technically "Selling England" is a superior album. The band is a little more well oiled and the production a bit better on that one. But... it has "More Fool Me" on it, which, while pleasant, isn't a favorite of mine. I like "After The Ordeal" but can see how it could be considered filler.

Yeah, I'm giving "Foxtrot" the win. I have no beef with "Get Em Out". And "Can Utility" rules too. Yeah. My conscious is clear on this one.

A second fave would be tough to pick since I love almost all Genesis albums up to the Lamb. However, as been evident in my posts, I hold one album above all others.

    Preference:
    1) Lamb, A++ (double the goodness)
    2) Nursery Cryme, and Foxtrot, A+ (tied as second faves)
    3) Selling England By The Pound, A (weak moments - More Fool Me and I Know What I Like)
    4) Trespass, A- (Ant was amazing but the band as a whole was just getting started into prog)

Edit - well, according to my own logic I can now pick one to vote off this round...Selling England By The Pound

    Selling England wins this one.

Final parring would be Trick vs Wind with Trick winning, but I guess that's iffy since I literally voted off Wind and Wuthering to save Trespass.....

SEBTP gets voted out by me as its pretty uneven while Foxtrot is a more consistently strong listen.

My final two would be The Lamb and Trick. Trick would get voted out, leaving Lamb as the winner.

I could never decide definitively between the two, but at the moment I'm voting off Selling England By the Pound.

My final pair would be Foxtrot vs The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

My final pair would have been Selling England and Trick. Or perhaps Selling England and Lamb.

Selling just has a smooth, rich, understated, classy sound to it. I think I picked it up mid-way in my "backwards discovery" of Genesis; it was instantly my favorite.

Foxtrot was my white whale album. Out of print at the time and never in any record bins. Finally ordered one from some specialty shop, imported from Germany or something. Loved Timetable and Can Utility, but was underwhelmed by Watcher, Friday, and Supper's. The live versions I'd heard were better; these sounded wooden and clunky in comparison.

Thanks for doing the polls. Nice work! :agree:

  18. Love them both pretty equally, so, since "Foxtrot" was losing, I voted off "Selling England By The Pound" & "Foxtrot" for the win... if the results had been reversed, I'd have voted otherwise too...

DQ?: Love Lamb, Foxtrot & Selling all pretty equally... because of the sheer breadth of the double (and because it, shockingly finished 4th here!!!) today I'd go with "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" as my winner, but honestly "Foxtrot" and the inevitable winner here "Selling England By The Pound" are part of this peak trilogy at the heart of what Genesis at it's very best us to me.

    Selling England.

Foxtrot (contains Supper's Ready.....so that's enough for me) and the Lamb would be my final two.

Selling England. It was hard to decide since both albums are great, but I think Foxtrot is more cohesive.
DQ - Mine would be Abacab and Genesis, with the latter winning.

Trick and Pound would have been my final two, but I will always say that Cryme to Trick is the most perfect 5 album run in my estimation.

    I voted for Foxtrot.
