I was quite surprise that this was NOT a 'mini-series'!
Just thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else was watching this...

I've been mentioning the series here & there in various threads. I enjoyed it very much.

I realized that when I typed it on the 'search' and found nothing...
I guess we were talking about Yara from "Game Of Thrones" being in it, on the "GOT" thread!

I did not expect such a 'happy ending' to the season....

Kinda surprised me also, as I didn't see 'Jack' as the most sympathetic of characters. Didn't expect things to work out so well for her. Suranne Jones gives an acting masterclass in this series!

It's already completed? I didn't watch a minute of it.

It was always a strange 'pallet-cleanser', after "Chernobyl" .

Either she's a big 'weather-nerd', OR..... it was some sort of 'symbolism/inuendo'.........

In that finale, Anne and Ann were already like an old married couple.

I hate trying to guess the symbolism, but I'd say it was a metaphor for Anne "taking the temperature" of whether Marianna would leave her husband to come live with her.

Very enjoyable series, set in Yorkshire I was expecting it to be somewhat bleaker overall but the tone is almost jaunty in places.

Where does Ross Poldark come in and start kicking ass?

Oh, he doesn’t? My bad, my timeline is screwed.

I haven't finished the first season yet, but have seen 4-5 episodes and am loving it so far. Agree that the lead actress is fantastic.

“It’s a period costume drama about lesbians!”
    “OK, I’ll watch it”

And that’s how I was tricked into learning about early 19th century coal bed leasing.

Suranne Jones is a fantastic character actor. I'm about to start watching the series, but you can also check her out in Doctor Foster, which is a superb, if sometimes bonkers, contemporary dramatic series. She plays the lead role.

Nothing like 7-year old children to extract your coal from the ground, huh?

It's on HBO, not Cinemax Friday After Dark. That should have been your first clue.
