I’ve been a huge fan of George Carlin since I was a teenager, but somehow this neat clip has slipped under my under radar the past few decades. I had no idea George had musical talent.

    OMG:faint:
I knew he had an ear and could carry a tune. but wow. Also knew he was an aficionado of doo wop.

A lot of that probably came from his time as a disc jockey in the ‘50s.

Thank you so much for posting this clip! Gotta hand it to Arsenio. His show was eclectic to say the least.

I loved seeing this side of Carlin and it reminds me of a more innocent time.

I actually liked his tasteful add in's. The comedy has to be there, but his respect was very apparent. It seemed like a fitting thing to do. Though Arsenio does OVER DO IT ( I orginaly said something that sounded racist and it didn't mean to be. Sorry) up on many occasions, this was one where he really held back. There was a point (at 1:38) he even thought he would step in and then he was like...no...I'll let it go. Kind of like Ali almost hitting Foreman one more time. He just couldn't do it, because the finesse of the fall (in this case the high) was just too great to over-do. The Marvin & Johnny hit being sung this way was pure magic, but the kinda duet part from Arsenio gave it a kind of collaboration that was practically worth a tear. You see the smile that Carlin gives to him, and it is just magic, that "dip dip dip..." was just awesome.

Agreed. George doesn’t seem to mind at all.
