Had these on order and was told there coming in. Apparently they’re new. Has anyone here had a chance to check these out yet?
These are apparently a brand new product. I’m apparently the first one getting them up here in Canada. I’m just wondering if anyone has tried them out in the USA.
From my understanding from the web, WE didnt make 6SN7 in the past. Shuguang WE6SN7 replica doesnt make sense, please correct me if I am wrong.
I’ll get them over the next few days. As far as I know they aren’t on their site yet. I can’t provide anymore real info but once I get my clutches on them I’ll be sure to pass on more info. As far as installing them unfortunately there doing heavy city work right around my house with heavy vibration and power issues so I might have to hold off installing them. That’s going to be hard to do cause these are supposed to be the “real deal”. I have high expectations.
New SHUGUANG WE6SN7 Vacuum Tubes Replace 6SN7 CV181 ECC35 6H8C 6N8P Tubes Vintage Hifi Audio Tube AMP DIY Factory Matched Pair*1|Amplifier| - AliExpress
Just checked and these are supposed to be US manufacture and all WE from the ground up. Whatever, they’re not inexpensive but I fully expect the performance level to live up to their classic 300B. I’ve been waiting a while for these and I’m really excited about them
There is now Rossville Works Manufacturing Facility — Western Electric - Maker of electron tubes and high fidelity
Apparently there is. The problem is size and production capability. They have an ad in the September issue of Stereophile featuring their “made in the USA” 300b tubes. They’re in Rossville GA.
Yes, I know about this tube but ppl are saying WE didnt make 6SN7 in the first place, how did Shuguang come up with the idea of naming this new production tube as WE6SN7 replica. It doesnt even has the construction design of a 6SN7 but a CV-181/ECC32.
The only remaining U.S. vacuum tube manufacturers who make tubes for amplifiers that I know of are: Western Electric in Rossville, Georgia, who still produces a handful of high end tubes such as the 300B . RCH Labs in Carson City, Nevada produces hand-made 6L6 tubes.
i said the same thing about the sophia electric blue glass... Sophia Blue Glass 6SN7 tube (In Pair) — Woo Audio
If Western Electric Georgia can come up with a good 6SN7, it would be, if nothing else, a good business move considering the current lack of availability of new Tung Sol etc. I would think Schiit would be very interested as they have been forced to sell some products with no valves which they previously didn't want to do.
I discussed this very situation and I think these are quickly going to be grabbed up by true tube heads. That’s why I’m happy I secured mine. I’ll keep everyone up to date specially when I actually lay my eyes on them. I have lots of people waiting on my opinion so I’ll try to report how they look and sound. I’d rather take a “leap of faith” than be sorry.
Yes, I would rather put my faith on American or British vintage tubes over Chinese new production tubes anytime. Have been working with Chinese manufacturers (other industries) for over 10 years and they are very good at some products but not product like vacuum tubes where QC and skilled workmanship are extremely important. Nevertheless, I have bought a pair of Psvane 805 becos I have no other choices, vintage 805/838 are extremely rare and very costly. Even if you manage to find a pair, they are very poor in condition and still very expensive.
Do you know the construction design? Exactly like a real 6SN7 or CV181? I hope it doesnt ended up like the WE300B situation.
