Ever think you'd hear a version of Milli Vanilli's "Girl You Know It's True" (the song, not the album obviously) as long as "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida"? :p

This is the fourth (and hopefully final) version of my GYKIT megamix. Basically, I realized years ago that they created TONS of extra sections of this song, more or less all using the same 'Ashley's Roachclip' beat loop, that they could slip in and out of remixes, apparently in a random fashion. So I thought, why not go through all the remixes, carefully separate each unique section, and string them together into one *enormous* continuous song?

Well, this is it. And at its current and most likely final length, it lasts a whopping 16:58. (My prior versions, before I found additional sections I had missed, lasted 15:54, 16:15, and 16:35.) Now, granted, I don't use every single little variation of each section - it would just become massively repetitive if I did that. I tried to keep it to the unique material; but as you can tell, there was QUITE a lot of that as it was! And it has a proper structure as well - the verses and choruses at the beginning, then the song starts to break down, gets random and strange, then builds back up to a repeat of the verse and chorus at the end, ironically quite like IAGDV!

As far as I can recall, I used...
    * Girl You Know It's True - album version
    * Girl You Know It's True - N.Y. Subway Extended Mix (the full-length 12" version)
    * Girl You Know It's True - Super Club Mix (from the 'All Or Nothing' CD)
    * Girl You Know It's True - G Spot Remix Beats (from the 12" single)
    * Girl You Know It's True - the Arista 'Remix Album' version
    * All Or Nothing - U.S. Mega Remix

    Phew! :)

I just assumed this was one of those joke links... Like the clip on YouTube that loops Tom's (VERY) whiny verse from the Blink-182 song "I Miss You" for TEN. HOURS. STRAIGHT.

I'm not sure this is better or worse.

Put it on YouTube and you're pretty much guaranteed 1 million hits.

I've been re-ripping my cd collection over the past few months as I had originally done it at 128 kb/s (the horror!). Anyway, I just finished the Milli Vanilli section and this would be the perfect addition to that section! A million thank-yous!

(BTW, I know it's the "politically correct" thing to rank on MV, but this album came out when I was 18 and it, along with McCartney's Flowers In The Dirt, Don't Be Cruel by Bobby Brown and De La Soul's debut were my soundtrack of that very awesome summer of 1989!)

Just finished listening to it.... Wow! Job well done! It really did seem like one piece and it definitely had a "flow" to it. Back in the day, I gave the 12" mixes quite a number of spins, so I was familiar with most of it. But, you had sections that I had never heard before! All those sections... Can this song be the "Heroes And Villains" of the late-80's??? ;)

Since I'm not crazy about "Heroes and Villains," I say yes.

I would find it more annoying than playing the entire "Nugget/Biscuit" loop

My friend once recorded Kenny Rogers "The Gambler" of both sides of a cassette tape to listen to it over and over.

wow, well done! :righton: I'm a fan of extended remixes and have done a few myself ;) What were your sources? You may want to consider a version where the full vocals don't come in for a few minutes, move some of the middle to the beginning then building up to where the full vocals don't drop until 4 or 5 minutes in. Have the verses start with just the word "girl" then instrumental for a bit, "girl" again then instrumental, then repeat with the full verse.

I used the album version (from the US CD), the Super Club Mix (from the 'All Or Nothing' CD), the G Spot Remix and NY Subway Extended Mix (from the maxi-single), the Arista 'Remix Album' version, and a stray extra bit that ended up in the track "All Or Nothing (US Mega Remix)".

It's funny, because I compared it to H&V in a conversation yesterday - and I've heard multiple people make that comparison since. :p

The best part about the Heroes and Villains comparisons is that I *HAVE* put H&V together - I put together what I considered a definitive 22-minute version a while back! :p
