Reading the Mick Taylor thread made me wonder what songs really show off Brian Jones and his contributions to the Stones.
The Stones were my brothers favorite band so in true brotherly fashion, I had to hate them. Really wasn't till the mid-80s I figured out what I had been missing.
So what tracks would showcase Brian Jones?

“Little Red Rooster” would certainly have to be present.

I'm not an expert, but isn't that Brian's slide guitar on Little Red Rooster?
    He had the coolest haircut

"It's All Over Now" for the greatest rhythm guitar part ever played, probably done on a 12-string. It's the lower pitched guitar... listen for the eighth note stabs under Keith's solo and the monster chords at the end.

Great harp playing on Not Fade Away and continuing through Beggar's Banquet. He taught Mick how to play.

Ruby Tuesday-recorder, possibly the piano (that one is in dispute), and co-wrote the song. There’s also Gomper, where he did most of the exotic instruments on there.

Mona, that’s him playing most of the licks.

All the spacey magic on Satanic Majesties Request is Brian. No one mastered the Mellotron the way he did.

One of his best guitar performances is the lead (slide) all over I Can’t Be Satisfied from Rolling Stones Number 2.

Everyone misses this because it wasn’t on U.S albums.
