Great, but a pity about the track split.

  3. Tempted, I only have an LP copy of Freeze Frame and with not every album easily available on cd the price is a steal. I may add it to my next amazon order.

Weird that this doesn't include Consequences, to completely cover their first era post 10cc work.

Nah, Im happy as it is, should be more weird to have just a few songs from Consequences
Surely they could not include all of it, and by just including some songs you dont do
it justice. It needs to be listen to in full! :)

The promo LP was a pretty good listen-- Killed the plot of course, but at least it got all the (mostly very good) songs in one place.

What also kind of fits is the Mickey Jupp album (Long Distance Romancer) they produced and played on; their sound is all over it.

I agree that the promo version of Consequences (1 LP distillation, all songs, no narration) is a good listen.

"Music from Consequences" was released officially in a bunch of countries in 1978 and is also included on a 2004 Edsel 2-fer CD with "L". It's a little bit odd that it's not included in this set but maybe they have plans to re-issue "Consequences" in it's entirety separately.

Can anyone else chime in on the audio quality of this release other than OP? It's not that I don't trust you OP but I'd like to hear a few more opinions before I take the plunge. It's not overly expensive but I've already got at least one copy of all the included audio so unless it's somewhat of an upgrade, if only a little bit, I'll likely not bite.

I think I'll stick to those Edsel cd's... everything present and correct... bonus tracks.... Music from Consequences and L on one disc... others as 2-fers... good sound. Can't complain. No Goodbye Blue Sky in that series but that's not a favourite anyway.

If you have the Edsel reissues, you're pretty much good. HOWEVER, this collection has tasty remastering of Goodbye Blue Sky which was not included in the Edsel reissues. Worth the buy for that alone. My only gripe overall is that the 12" mix of "Cry" still has not been included in any of these reissue collections.

Did you mean “Thankfully” instead of “Weird”? :)

I just don’t like that multi lp set of dreck. But I freely admit this to be a case of “that’s just me”...

Thanks for posting about this! I have pretty much all of this in good sounding versions, but once I get home from this trip I'll double-check to see if there are some gaps this might help fill. Always good to see these albums staying in print on CD, one way or another.

  17. Well maybe because that album is credited as Creme & Godley.:tiphat:

I have most of this on LP already, but that bonus disc of non-LP singles looks mighty tasty.

But that goes for 'L' as well, and that one is included!

So this differs from the 6.33 album version? I had no idea.
Incidentally, the fantastic 7" promo mix of 'Samson' is also missing in action on the new collection (it's on CD on the Master Series collection). Same for 'Strange Apparatus', the single edit of 'An Englishman in New York', which I like more than the full version.

    This is it:

I have it on the original 12" vinyl single. It wasn't on any of the Edsel reissues and was surprised that it wasn't included on this new set either.

The 12" extended remix of Cry is included in the 2006 Japanese CD remaster of History Mix. But that CD does not include the regular single edit. I guess someone thinks that nobody wants 3 versions of Cry on a single CD, but I think they're mistaken.

I finally picked up both Body of Work and Before During After. I'm making my way through the 10cc box before going to Before During After. The same mastering team was involved in both box sets and I'm enjoying the 10cc set's sound so far. I'm looking forward to comparing the new set to both the Japanese and Edsel remasters.

I found Birds once, albeit with slight water damage. Ismism I've seen 3-4 times. Usually Canadian pressings without the die cut. Found the die cut UK once. In US, it was titled Snack Attack and comes around in the bins once a year.

The record I've come across only once and passed on was Eric Stewart's first. It was between that and Consequences. I chose consequences. That was over 20 years ago. Should have hit the ATM.
