Beware of cds being sold by this name of ebay or amazon. Three times I've bought Gold CDs from the seller that were cheap BMG club versions. You'll get a refund but I'll save you the letdown.

I ordered a CD from them once and they sent the wrong one. After a lot of hassle I got a refund. Never again.

I ordered three 'DCC Gold discs' from them on the same day. None of them was the DCC gold version. I wrote them a long email explaining to them the difference. Two weeks later after they received the CD's back from me, they relisted them again as DCC gold discs. :realmad:

They keep listing many CD's as Gold CDs (MFSL or DCC). I have sent them emails asking them if that is really the GOLD cd version, and their reply always is that they cant check, that they only go by amazon listings.

Im glad you brought this up. Avoid this seller like the plague. Never buy 'DCC' or 'MFSL' from them.

Perhaps a letter to Amazon would help to get them to do the right thing?

Get ready to send it back, I gave them 2 chances on regular cd's and they are pathetic. Sent the wrong cd on both orders. Got refund but it was a PITA!

I have never ordered anything from them as I thought their prices were too good to be true. So stayed away, seems like I was right.

By the way, unlike some others here, my experience with their return process has been smooth and pleasant. On two occasions they've just said, "Don't bother, just keep it" and refunded my money, but otherwise it's just been the simple "print the label, box it up, drop it in the mail" process. They've always given me a full refund promptly. So, although that takes a little time, it's worth it to me to take a chance once in a while. Maybe if I hadn't actually gotten a DCC once before I'd think otherwise.

I've bought from them on occasion. The first couple of times were great, but the most recent experience was a disaster. I found them very unresponsive.

I ordered from them, then waited... and waited. Weeks later they emailed me and said the CD was no longer in stock. Meh.

  15. They frequently list common cds under the DCC and MSFL versions on Amazon marketplace. The returns process is a hassle and after two false listings I gave up using them.

Is this any connection to the Hastings chain of bookstores, whose website address is www.gohastings.com? I ask because I often shop for CDs at Hastings (in person) and have had nothing but glowing and positive experiences for the last 15 years or more. It seems odd that their Ebay arm would be so poor.

Got it last Friday. It's the real deal. They had a $12.49 price sticker over the $24.98 price sticker. The bubble mailer had no cardboard inserts, but the record arrived unscathed.

I assume it is the same business. I think some of the problems stem from trying to coordinate eBay sales with their large chain of brick and mortar stores spread out across the US. It seems the items they offer on eBay are usually sitting in bins in their stores and available for sale there as well, which is why they often cannot fill orders.

I've had mixed results, some CDs ordered have not been delivered, and in one case I had to prompt them to refund my money after I didn't receive it for weeks. I'm pretty busy, so unless it is a CD I am really interested in I pass them by. FWIW, I've never tried to order an MFSL or DCC disc from them.

Recently rolled the dice with a so-described DCC Waiting For The Sun on Amazon from GoHastings -- for $10.99. It just showed up today. I was fairly shocked to find that it is indeed a DCC, and in pretty nice condition! Amazing. It even came with the slipcase, which is in terrible condition. :)

They recently listed The Monkees "Headquarters Sessions" for $8.13. That set normally lists for hundreds of dollars. Taking a chance, I bought it. What I received was the 1994 Rhino reissue of "Headquarters" (retail edition). They not only gave me a full refund, but told me to keep the disc. It was a win/win situation, because I wanted to replace my Monkees BMG editions. :D

Or, someone's using the company's name.

We have had a hastings here since 1990. They may not be the best, but they have great service.

I worked in the music department at Hastings about 15 years ago. Best job I ever had! Too bad I didn't realize all those DCCs we stocked would soon dry up :(

I was also in charge of buying used CDs. Of course I couldn't appreciate what we now know to be "rare" CDs, but still got to pick up several interesting discs for cheap.
