Another vote for Baby Driver. Don't let the title fool you. Hard as nails crime movie.

"The Raid 2" has a car chase sequence that can rank with most of the above. The countless jaw-dropping fight scenes also featured in the film makes this a must-see for any action junkie.

I always liked the truck/bike chase in Terminator 2.
Note the two cars destined for a head on collision at 0:42. They were having a bad day whatever happened!

I was going to paste Jackie Chan's, either Operation Condor or the Shanty town scene from Police Story, they are both excellent but, and I hope no one minds me going off topic, this one is just so creative.... ouch!

That's a young George Clooney driving. No CGI, Streethawk is real and can reach speeds of 300mph :D

I'll argue that The Blues Brothers car chase scene was pretty good right up to the point where it turned into a Looney Tunes cartoon with the back flip and the Pinto wagon (I think) burying itself into a conveniently placed hole in the street. I actually think the movie would've been better overall had it ended before the chase.

I prefer the mall chase personally. The scale of the end chase is amazing though.

As above, the best car chase scene in a film that isn't itself an extended chase (like ROAD WARRIOR) is the wrong-way-freeway scene in TO LIVE & DIE IN L.A. Pre-CGI, it's an impressive achievement.

They must have hired every stunt driver in Cali to film that, not to mention shutting down the freeway for hours. I remember empathizing so much with the trapped "good cop" -- who's going along with his reckless partner's already stupid scheme -- that I was getting nauseous as the cars careened by on screen like missiles.

Agreed, great chases and nice cars all around. But they don't get 50 mpg like I do in my Honda Insight driving like a granny.

Good call. I think Keannu does his own stunts in these films, including all the driving. CGI kept to a bare minimum if at all.

It amazes me how fast that VW Beetle was in the chase scene in "Bullit."
It had to be, to be passed in so many different places during the scene.
