This just arrived but am dismayed to find that it’s the standard edition and not, as advertised, the Amazon Exclusive Edition. Idiots. Have arranged a replacement backed up with an explanatory email.

The replacement has just arrived and to my delight, Amazon got it right this time and sent the correct edition. Their price for this "Amazon Exclusive" edition has gone back up by 14p.

If you prefer, they are offering the standard edition, the one I’ll be returning, for two and a half times the price of their "exclusive". That’s a headscratcher.

The one I see from Amazon is clearly described as new at 6.09GBP.

 

Amazon are sometimes wacky with their product descriptions, choosing to copy text from third-party sellers where a description might not have previously existed. Amazon's own store sells new product; I'm pretty sure this is a new item; the condition says "New".

 

The description by Amazon of their offer at 6.09 says NEW.

 

Yes, I see now in the Product Description on the listing the following :

This seems to be nonsense.

If you click on the "new and used" hyperlink at the top, you will see this item described as new.

 

The price has gone down again by over a pound.

 

Exactly the same price as the CD, so suspect an error on the site, but I’m in...

FWIW, Amazon is running a pretty good deal on the Black Kef LS50 right now for $993 (link here). Typical price is $1300.


That's a pretty good deal on new LS50's. And personally, I like the all black look more than the orange/black we typically see.

And for those who don't know about this speaker, there are LOTS of reviews out there. It's a really nice bookshelf speaker but definitely needs a subwoofer if listening in the far field (ideally, being a concentric design you would keep the midrange/woofer portion movement as minimal as possible because it's the waveguide for the tweeter).
