Okay. I added Kinks and Rush too. A dollar a title is about what I think digital copies are worth. I'll watch these and if I like them I'll grab their DVD/Blu-ray counterparts unless they're out of print and going for crazy money. Currently watching McCartney.
Here's some more but I saw many more. There's a number of music docs and old videos like Frank Sinatra. I copied and pasted titles as is so mispellings are Amazon but I left alone in case someone does a paste and search. Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More For The Fans Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett: Cheek to Cheek Kylie Minogue Kylie Fever 2002 Live In Manchester Gloria Estefan: Live in Atlantis Hollywood In Vienna: The World Of James Horner Graham Parker and the Figgs: Live at the FTC Tanglewood: The Silk Road Ensemble with Yo- Yo Ma (Live Performance) The Cheiftains: Down the Old Plank Road: The Nashville Sessions in Concert Juice Newton: Every Road Leads Back to You I picked up a few more for a total of 9. Debating a few others like the James Horner tribute and Chieftains.
Most of these are currently free for Prime Members. One or two are 99 cents. I think a dollar is a great price for the ones I want, about a dozen I have found so far to buy. The price makes no sense to me and I think Amazon loses money, but I am happy to have them at this price.
I agree it's a great price and I bought 9 titles. But to be honest, if these were 1.99 or more I wouldn't have bought any. As is, I'm havng a fun day watching the concerts I bought so I'm definitely getting my 99 cents worth!
Are these made to work only if you still have a Prime membership or play through specific devices only? Any of that nonsense?
You need a device to play Amazon video, no Prime subscription will be required for the videos you own. The free Amazon Prime videos linked above require an Amazon Prime subscription. The 99 cent videos I purchased have not been added to my Movies Anywhere account or Vudu or other, only Amazon indicates I own those videos so far. Windows PC, Roku, Sony UBP-X800, Fire TV and other devices I own can play Amazon video.
How does the McCartney sound? The audio on the NYC show had several low ratings on the quality of the audio. I picked up 8 titles last night: Bryan Adams, Rush CWA, Kinks, Rob Zombie (for John 5), Bad Co, Bee Gees, U2 and Warren Haynes. Everything I have watched is outstanding! Thanks to all for sharing their finds.
In addition to the AC/DC and Rush, I got: George Harrison - Living In The Material World Fantomas: The Director's Cut Live - A New Year's Revolution
Ironically, this thread has since morphed from a “Vinyl deals” thread into specifically a “Digital Concert Movie deals” thread... So, I guess some “digital collectors” should be glad...
It sounds fine for 99 cents. TBH, of the 5 concerts I watched on Tuesday I didn’t listen that closely to the sound quality. I guess I just don’t expect much when streaming from Amazon or Netflix. The one thing I did notice was all the videos start off looking awful for a few minutes while Amazon decides what video quality my connection can carry. Then it pops in fine.
I sampled the MACCA after reading the terrible reviews...I didn't notice distorted tracks at all, but the sound volume was pretty soft; I had to turn my rcvr way up past normal to get it to my preferred rock listening volume. The Elvis Costello show was this way as well, but The Year That Punk Broke sounded fine. I'm not that upset for a dollar.
