The vinyl in my Mellencamp box, which I purchased maybe a couple of years ago, was perfect. It also sounds great. Musically, my favorite of the five records is Scarecrow. Every other master I've tried for it has sucked. This one sounds much better.
I noticed it's back up to a more normal $82 again so now it's not as cheap. The box does yo-yo up and down in price. In any case, you won't spend the $95 I spent on mine, which was a low price at that moment. It's even not much of a risk. This is one nice thing about buying from Amazon. With their long return window, if there is a record or two bad in your first box, you can get another box for replacement and cull out the good LPs from both sets, sending back all the bad ones.

I got my copy yesterday. Great fun to score a $7 LP, but WHY CARDBOARD INNER SLEEVE? WHY? The LP plays great and is flat, but the cardboard sleeve did it no favors.
