I swore when Macca started jacking the prices into the stratosphere that I was done buying his box sets, but at that price I decided to bite...again...since I do like that album. I missed the $111 price, but got it at $118 after the coupon so thanks for the post Japes!
For the longest time I was able to buy from the U.K. Amazon store and have it shipped to the states (I live outside of Seattle) but around the first of the year they started putting “can not ship to your address”on every CD or vinyl I tried to buy. I still look every once in a while but no dice for me. Just another thing where 2020 has sucked ascii.
Same here. I use to import from UK, Canada, Germany, France, but now get same message. Was nice while it lasted.
Canada went dark a couple of years ago. UK supposedly went dark with the rise of Covid, but some have said that they have started to offer shipping to the US again--though I haven't checked.
For me with Amazon UK since the beginning of COVID it’s been hit and miss - some things have shipped without issue, others won’t ship.
Ocoeur Everything on clear vinyl is down to $5.67 shipped (with Prime). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083K1R66J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Insanely cheap for a great quality pressing of a terrific melodic ambient album.
gotta hand it to the garth camp. proving that you can sell vinyl for dirt cheap. anything to boost your sales figures, baby! grabbed one of these sets for $25 last year and thought that was a steal.
https://www.amazon.com/Soul-Food-Cooking-Maceo-Parker/dp/B087H8WKP4 Maceo Parker Soul Food - Cooking With Maceo LP $10.40
let's continue to taut this one until it's sold out. really, really enjoying this one still. great price. no brainer, etc. etc. found some more stuff: Indigo Girls - Look Long (2xLP, vinyl cut by KPG): $9.47 https://www.amazon.com/LOOK-LONG-LP-Indigo-Girls/dp/B0857CHF92 Sweet Crude - Officiel/Artificiel (vinyl): $8.05 https://www.amazon.com/Officiel-Artificiel-LP-Sweet-Crude/dp/B0858TGCJT
My sense is this is the last hurrah--time to clear out the warehouse. So if you want this, get it now. It will never be rare and valuable, but it almost certainly won't be cheaper in the future.
perhaps! didn't they "sell out" initially though? i remember seeing idiotic prices on the second hand market. it seems like they'll just keep churning them out until they can't move any more copies at dollar general, etc.
I imagine that d/b/a Garth Brooks Enterprises probably sold out their stock to distributors. But Amazon has some still in the warehouse. No way they are pressing more copies. This was definitely a one and done.
And if you want even more Garth Brooks, 3 boxes together are selling for $43.97. (21-LPs, 21-CDs) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S65DG37/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Maybe his other albums will be released on vinyl.
Yeah, that 3-fer box is a bit silly. You get: Analog vinyl 180g / CDs Analog vinyl 140g / CDs Digital vinyl 140g / CDs I believe all boxes are individually wrapped, though. So you can keep the 180g analog box and gift the others. The digital vinyl seems incredibly pointless to me, given the availability of the analog vinyl. But as a gift for a friend who's not an audiophile it would probably be just fine.
Rolling Stones in Mono Box (CD) - $90 after $14 coupon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H2NU8DQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I was holding out on ordering this because of the price and the poor quality of the packaging for the US version but it doesn't seem like it will ever be cheaper than this for a non-counterfeit set.
Kind of makes me wish I liked Garth brooks. But then again I could go to Goodwill and buy 21 albums for $21 and they would be albums that I'd probably like just as much, possibly more.
FYI, a poster in the music forum posted this video comparing the Japanese version and the North American version of this box set. Wasn't even close, the quality of the North American version is cheap crapola.
