There have been a few posts regarding good deals on BB, but I don't see any thread. I placed a large order last week after finding some really good deals on vinyl.

The Kevin Gray cut of Van Halen's debut is tempting at $12 off, Mr. Gray has yet to let me down.

I bought a whole bunch of these vinyls from Best Buy at the "nice price" over the course of the last month. Glad the price was right and I got the "new acquisition" urge out of my system, cause some of these new vinyls just don't sound very good. Purely subjective...my opinion only. YMMV.

Yes, they seem to have adopted the new Amazon-type LP mailers, or at least that's what mine came in. They used to be VERY hit or miss with their packaging of merchandise through the mail.

My guess is that Amazon is doing the order fulfillment for BB on these items.

I'm not sure what your point is. They carry vinyl from many different labels, artists, etc. Clearly some albums don't sound very good, but that has more relevance in a thread discussing the albums you're referring to (if you'd like to be specific). I'm merely pointing out good deals, and some of what I've found are remarkable sounding releases.

Yeah I hear ya...we appreciate the heads up and the web links, really. I was just putting forward a slice of my own experience over the past month after going gangbusters buying this stuff up - a postmortem assessment if you will. But yeah..specifics belong elsewhere, agree.

If I may, I would like to concur with an earlier post that mentioned the packaging for these Best Buy shipments...excellent indeed each and every time.

There are TONS of new vinyl reissues these days, and I agree with "Johnny Q": A lot of them are pretty substandard: Nice to look at, but really offer little/nothing over easily found original issues in the used bins.

That's not to say some of these audiophile issues aren't worthy. But a lot of this stuff, particularly the stuff issued via the major labels themselves, is more to fill a hole in the marketplace than to service those looking for good sound.

Is that Moondance LP the one that Steve and Kevin did a few years ago?

Also, does that Queen LP have the same mastering as the recent CD remaster?

Looks like it does based on a search for this reissue on Amazon. :thumbsdn:

    Keith,

The LP's UPC in the Best Buy link matches the one for my Steve/Kevin Rhino copy

Thanks. I already have a copy (but wasn't around to check the UPC on it), but I just had to know and figured others would want to know. That's a great price for the Steve/Kevin LP.

Thanks for the heads up on the Wilbury's set. I have been waiting for a good year or so for this to get a markdown. I had puchased the VH album last month and it is a great cut of this album. There are also a couple of Hendrix albums that are still $9.99 as well.
