I still haven't been able to confirm if this is from the old Japan manufacture or not.

I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you mean you want to know about good sounding SHM CD's of albums originally on Polydor?

If so - Pat Travers Makin Magic is great, and is his debut.

That's what I took it as. Universal owns (Polydor, and family) them now.
    Sony would be Blu Spec

They use the old 'flat' mastering's-dynamics intact.
Unfortunately most use modern crap remasters.

Some I have heard that are very good:
    Pat Travers
    BTO
    ARS
    Savoy Brown
    Canned Heat
    Strawbs

I've been on the fence about the Strawbs and couldn't find anything that referenced them. When you say you "have heard" do you mean you've heard them or you have heard from someone else that they are very good? Sorry to be a pain but I just want to do my due diligence before I pull the trigger on these. Many thanks .

I can't think of the name of it at the moment, but I have an Olivia Newton John SHM cd, it is actually the only SHM cd I have, and the songs are great but the mastering actually distorts tracks .... it has kind of put me off buying any more of these.

    It's this one I believe

I was expecting this super high quality audio and it is done terribly
