Thanks for the recommendation. I listened to it the other day. Great stuff. Jerry was busy in Jan-Feb '72 with Merl, Howard Wales, and then Merl again. Quite the run of amazing music.
I listened to this show last night. During the Expressway I was thinking “this is a GREAT version” and I remembered someone had recommended it but could not find it. What a great show and thanks for the recommendation @sami
I was about to say that the lack of easily downloadable, Archive.org-style JGB frustrates me to no end... but then I discovered 2/6/72 is actually on the Archive. I'm suddenly very interested in hearing this show. I've heard that Expressway, but not in the context of the full set. Now that I say that, I guess I'll complain about there being very little other JGB/Garcia-Saunders music on the Archive.
Today's lesson in "the internet is even bigger than you think it is." This looks incredible -- thank you!
My pleasure. Just listened to it again, and that Expressway is off the charts. I keep waiting for Jerry's solos to be finished and he goes on another astonishing run. To me, it's pretty much the pinnacle.
Wow--I had absolutely no idea about that. Hard to believe, but I do not know that site at all. Thank you.
Not being able to listen to specific tracks is sort of a drag, but I'll look on the bright side and say that this might get me to check out some things I'd otherwise skip. That's paid off thus far.
Also on bt.etree.org. Streaming the shows is convenient though. SugarMegs also has a lot of JGB streaming.

The JGB playing in Sebastopol, Cali. This is laid-back, down-home music. An excellent show! PS- Note the prominence of the Wolf on the cover.
It’s so chilled and laidback—perfect wind-down music last night. I do like these GarciaLive covers—great artwork. And who doesn’t love the Wolf?
Somewhere locked away in my vault is a reel to reel copy from the master cassettes of a taper friend from Winterland 12/19-20/75 with Nicky Hopkins on keyboards. I keep thinking I will run across someone with a decent tape deck who can copy it to CD for me, provided the tape is in good shape. Just need to remember which box it is packed away in. I have a really nice poster for a JGB show during that period, one of my favorite music posters. Good memories of the show...Kingfish, Keith and Donna (okay, not so much that part), and Clover on the bill. Nothing like a Winterland show...
