Sorta happened to me again today....bought A Date With Elvis on Discogs. First pressing, VG + for $8. Got here today and it's not a first press, as it says monorual on the label. However, it's about as mint as you can get.

    Also...

Went to a record shop today and they had a NM Zep 2 RL. But it wasn't for sale...well it was if I had about $250.

...quickly eclipsing the Beatles Butcher Cover as the not particularly rare album whose "value" is way out of wack with its scarcity.

What did he say? He didn't give you a negative feedback did he?

I know eBay will often let you keep the item and just refund your money and let the seller keep his money. This is usually for small ticket items when the shipping is close to the price of the item itself.

Not sure how PayPal handles that, I assume it's the same though.

I always make it clear from my first message that I refuse to pay for an item that is not what I purchased. I've never had to pay for return shipping and have had them just settle it without shipping 2-3 times as both the buyer and the seller.

I had some jackass seller on Discogs give me negative non-payment feedback because one of the characters in his email address he gave me for payment was wrong - he said I should have corrected it!?

One of the guys I left negative feedback for just left me negative feedback, blaming me for everything and calling me a jerk. Even though he had me send the return to the wrong address and then tried to fight me on the refund. I just sent Discogs a long email explaining what happened and asked them to remove this guy's feedback from my profile. If they don't, I'm cancelling my account.

This is why sellers leaving buyer feedback is a horrible idea.

I disagree. Feedback goes both ways, but unfortunately some people are just jerks. There will always be exceptions, but buyers and sellers both should be able to have an idea of who's trustworthy and who isn't.

Absurd. I hope that gets rectified.

No the exception on eBay was quickly becoming sellers who did not use feedback as revenge. It's a horrible horrible idea of limited value.

Besides, I always saw it as the buyer chooses the seller on there. Not the other way around. The seller giving the buyer feedback indeed has little to no value.

Please let us know how that works out. I want to leave negative feedback to a seller, but I haven't for this same reason. If Discogs comes thru for you, then I will.

Victory! Got a 100% refund...early, no less...from PayPal. Left some super awesome negative feedback, too.

I love the smell of a PayPal refund in the morning...it smells like...victory.

Good news! Did you have to return the record?

Yes, which is fine. It's worthless. I don't want it anywhere near my TT!

On your feedback page there is a button for "request feedback removal."
