Oh that was much better. For the first time it felt that they had some energy again. I will remember "which seat comes as standard?"
Ha Ha.........yeah.... great stuff. And......."why didn't they just put it in to begin with"?.........
I really enjoyed these guys on Top Gear, but this show did not have the same vibe and I quickly lost interest. I will give this new season a shot. Thanks for the heads up.
It was like Top Gear again. Thrashing exotic cars, trashing each other, generally having a good time again.
I watched the episode last night, and you all were spot on. This was a very fun episode and felt like Top Gear again. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.
So am I, about time they got back to doing utter nonsense. They're the Monty Python of car shows. Besides that it's the only show where we get to see the exotics actually being driven. I read they've already been approved for season 4.
"You look like something that walked out of a pyramid" The donkey! Hence the phrase "Getting some A*s?" My wife looked that up on the internet, its true!
So just two programmes in this series and part two still not out yet? What's going on? Are they beginning to feel their age? Are they running out of ideas? Re-watching their old show on 'Spike' regularly and back then is was a car with the odd funny bit, some yummie supercar, a bit of consumer advice and loads of funny banter. Already on the BBC it slowly turned into an action-comedy with all kinds of staged antics and, every now and then, life-threatening accidents. So far The Grand Tour is a tired, high budget remix of the things they've done before, i.m.o.
I've enjoyed the "Special" episodes except for this latest one. Seems to me they've pretty much had their fill of each other and it shows. James May's Our Man In Japan was a refreshing change from the squabbling that had become so much the focus of the other program. Of course James has a conflict or two with the crew in Japan, but nothing like bickering in The Grand Tour.
Now Richard Hammond has his own show, trying to survive on a island with another guy. And a camera crew. And power tools. Once these ''adventures'' seemed a nice idea (and fake too), but now they're stretching the formula to its limits and beyond that.
It's with Tory Belleci from Mythbusters. It's fun...stupid, but fun. I prefer James May's Our Man In Japan. I'd like to see more of those.
The latest Grand Tour episode "A Massive Hunt", which has them on Reunion Island and Madagascar is a definite improvement over the previous outing. The off-the-coast causeway on Reunion Island is a pretty spectacular bit of engineering. The drive across Madagascar in search of treasure is amusing but the ending is pretty weak.
So another instalment is almost upon us!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grand Tour Season 4 Ep 3 "Lochdown" will show on Amazon on the 30th of this month. Preview here......The Grand Tour Presents: Lochdown: release date, trailer and new episodes explained | TechRadar
