Mine wound up being about 16,000 something. It was later established that the higher the number, the better the sound. So way to go!

Yet they’ve not gone there with Dave’s Picks...

Also, my Alpine box still hasn’t happened.

    Agreed on the first sentence.

HALLELUJAH, CAN I GET A WITNESS!! on the second.

I’m all for CDs still being issued, but there’s no reason to not offer hi-res downloads. An official streaming service is not a bad idea either. Not sure if I’d go for that, but maybe.

I wish they’d just digitize the whole damned vault and let people choose what they want, ala carte, at a reasonable price. I don’t need fancy packaging and limited editions at inflated cost.

It’s not about what “we” need. It’s about a business model that works and makes money for them. The current Dave’s model is successful. Raking in cash.

Now, if we all agreed to boycott the Dave’s series and sales plummeted, well...

What’s up with Springfield civic center sneakily holding down the fort. The 70s shows are practically all solid and occur on or right around peak months of Dead playing. Give us that that DaP 36 10/2/72. Double up on that 74 and sting me with that 6/30/74...or same with that 77. 4/23/77..gimme gimme

And well we're at it let's get some more Baltimore Civic Center shows out there like 3/26/73 (Wolfman Jack intro to Ramble on Rose cmon) and 5/26/77.

Perhaps a "Civic Center" box is the way to go, lots of options with that one.

A Philadelphia 89 set would make for a fine (smallish) box. Or perhaps in combo with some other Fall 89 shows. While all the great ‘89 “Dark Star” shows have been released, there are still plenty of great shows from that wonderful tour. I know the writer in the third Taping Compendium says the 10.20.89 philly show is his fave of the year even! I don’t know if I’d go that far, but it speaks to the quality of the Fall 89 tour still untapped. I love that 89 Philly run. And there’s quality left in the Meadowlands run and other couple of tour stops.

Philly and Charlotte for sure...then maybe a pair of the unreleased Meadowlands shows to round it out.

10-20-89 would make a great Pick whenever Dave is ready to move beyond the Reagan years. Great Scarlet>Fire and possibly my favorite Hey Pocky Way.

With a Dave's Picks subscription you pay upfront, but do not know what 3 of the shows will be. With box sets, you know what you are paying for. If Dave's Picks has more than one post 1979 show per year, I will cancel my subscription. And one post 1979 show every three years would be about right.

You pay for each year. Within that year, I do not believe that you can cancel.

LOL at folks threatening that they’ll cancel their sub if Dave dares to release too many shows outside of their ‘70s “safe zone”. I’m sure that Rhino/GDP are shaking in their boots about this “lost” revenue.
