Wasn't the July '78 box a huge surprise. Did anyone know that those SDBs excisted besides the Red Rocks shows?
And the first Red Rocks show was only available in mono from one of the stereo channel iirc

I think those were the first shows put out from the ABCD deal.

Is it known what-all was returned to the vault recently, e.g. the June '76 tapes and the Capitol '71 tapes were apparently included, but do we know what else? Because Dave told me that 4-15-78 wasn't in the vault when I asked him, which was, granted, at least ten years ago. Obviously a lot of stuff has been returned since then, so I don't know how up-to-date any particular bit of anecdotal data is.

Capitol '71 was always in the vault. Multitracks recordings.

Oh, right, but weren't the Capitol Bettys returned recently?

    Thanks, here we go:

Jerry Garcia's Middle Finger: The New Alphabet: ABCD GD

There's some nice stuff from 1973 on that list. No 2-15, unfortunately.

Some nice stuff on the cassette list, too, esp. from late '77 and early '78.

Audience tape of 11/1/77 Detroit is pretty great. It’d be fun if they put out the Betty for that one someday.

They'd have a right good time down at the Arms if that one drops. Ale will be flowing and the top shelf single malts will have their say. Plus, the whole gang will have a serious talk with Uncle Albert, and will be well spoken to.

That’a always been the word, from both Dick and Dave. Sad, but true.

I think I asked this before, but is there any circulating SBD of 2/15/73 that doesn’t have that weird “blip” around the 12:22 mark on “Dark Star”? Even the recent CM remaster has it, so I guess we’re just stuck with it.

Still great, clearly, but I’d prefer it Just Exactly Perfect.

That "blip" came from one of the guitars- either a switch flip, an effects something-or-other, or something more mysterious.

    Fair enough.

Oddly, the same thing happens on one song (I forget which one) a week earlier: 2/9/73 (Palo Alto, also newly remastered by CM).

In spite of that small, brief weirdness, both shows are mindmelters.

Wow! Thanks for that link @uzn007! I hadn’t seen that level of detail before.

One item that stands out there is 3-18-77 on cassette. It would be amazing if they have a SBD section to cover that reel flip at the peak of the Caution jam. If so it then seems like a no brainer for them to eventually release those three Winterland shows all together as a little mini-box set. I’ve always felt like they were waiting for a potential patch to make its way into the Vault.

I believe there is also a gap in the Scarlet > Fire that would be well-served by a patch.

The blip in 15 Feb 1973 is so much a part of the presentation I'd go nuts if it were taken out. I had that tape 40 years ago so its engrained in my mind.
