Seaside chat just posted. Link for subscription ordering not live yet DaP 41 is Baltimore May 77. 1977/05/26
US Blues that was missing from DaP 40 is confirmed so it’s anyones guess what other unrelated filler could be on there
I have never watched one of these in full. Lol. Question is….do I want the Sub this year? I don’t know. Imo ‘77 is overrated but its only one show so its a problem.
oh man I’m in for that. If that’s the way they want to rerelease the early DaPs that good with me. Only 5000 copies so I’m not going to risk it not being a dead.net exclusive
That tour holds a special place in my heart. I was at the Springfield 4/23/77 show and loved it. The following week I caught them multiple nights in NYC, but on 4/30/77, a Saturday night, the encore was Terrapin and that my first time hearing it live and it took my breath away. I'm probably forgetting a few other shows I saw that tour, but for sure in Boston, where I was living for that 5/7 show. 5/26 is likely just a continuation of how they were playing that spring tour and should be wonderful. I have been subscribing since year 3. The last couple of years I hesitated, but ultimately went through with it. Not sure what I will do for 2022 yet.
Ordered the DaP 1 vinyl. The 10% off code still works CC21WMG10. will also try the code on a subscription when it goes live
Hm I’m holding back until the second pick is dropped too. This is a fine show but if it is the “big hook” to get me to sub for the year I may pass this time.
Weird. They took the Seaside Chat down. I was watching it on my TV but when I went to link the Youtube page to another website is has now disappeared?!!!! Maybe someone in the organization jumped the gun? If I recall this is a good show. I'm pretty sure I had a tape of it back in the day but don't remember if it was a board or Aud. In the context of all that I have already from the various official releases, I'm really not all that moved by this news at all. I have so much already from May 77 , plus the three winterland shows in June, and lots from the fall- basically just about everything officially released from 77. (Maybe missing one or two things, maybe not, not even sure!) Yeah they were a great band in '77 but let's face it, most of the first set songs from that era sound almost the same night-to-night, polished and powerful to be sure, but not really radically different from one another. Most of the second set jams are great but follow certain patterns, and, for me, anyway, one more late-May '77 show is not gonna give much 'new' that I don't already have a dozen examples of anyway. if the second pick of 2022 is something really special, I might re-consider, but as of now I'm not re-upping for '22.
Re-upped for 2022 and Mosque box, too. Glad I have that 10% off code pinned to the corkboard on the wall above my computer as well. Was gonna alert that the code still works but that news has already been provided and handled here.
Why announce DaP 1 on vinyl now when it's not expected to ship until April? Of course I pre-ordered, but the wait is gonna suuuuuckkkk
