I received my DaP 49 on February 8th. Very slight damage on upper left corner of the case otherwise rather fast shipping.

I think he must mean save loads of money by getting a bunch of shows in one box

What he meant was he can use the giant 1985 Box as his tombstone.

Visitors to the cemetery can say, "Here lies a true Head..."

Love your week off. Sounds right my alley for a good use of PTO.

I like it, although I also like the idea of a couple complete runs from consecutive years as one or more box sets. Lots of good ones to choose from, although the ‘86-‘88 runs weren’t as sting overall as earlier years or ‘89 (and the first ‘89 show found the band shaking off the cobwebs a bit).

I like the fast playing. The Dead's canon is replete with slow songs. As they aged, the slow songs got slower until they turned to molasses under Dead and Co.

1985 is a rare interlude where the 1965-6 vibe re-appears. I like it in general. I think the dead's tunes work better at a faster tempo

Can you do polls on here ?

id love to see the voting:

    1. Top release - will have a consistent place in my GD rotation
    2. Glad they are doing 1985, hope they do more
    3. Glad they are doing 1985, not a great release though
    4. Can live without it - won't see much playing time
    5. DL has jumped the shark - if this is the best of what's left in the vault, they should stop now

    Ditto

As I have stated many times, I am not a fan of 80s recordings, and these two shows were a pleasant surprise. I have spun all 4 discs at least 5-6 times already.

(Happy to have some ‘85 for variety… another release or two is fine, but moderation is key. :))
