    Fantastic !

You probably read my story about meeting The Dead on an upstate NY highway circa 1980. I tried to pass Lesh a joint from our car to their limo.

Great memory, thanks for posting !

I guess this is the photo that Robert Hunter vetoed for the back cover of American Beauty...

As an addendum to the above series of photos, the whole band was actually decked out in Nudie outfits on that night - but Keith and Phil were only captured in black and white:

Very nice article, Tiger is my favorite Garcia guitar- I have a replica.

Alligator is missing from this collection above. I also don't see a Strat nor a Les Paul etc.

That 2 cd set is the way reissues of live albums can and should've done :)

To me, every time I see this picture, Weir seems to look so much older or something; I always have to do a double take to figure out who it is - must of had a rough night the night before or something.

It's those eyes. This photo session of him always grabs my attention. It's easy say well he's on acid, but it feels like something else, like colored contacts. But that's highly unlikely. Very strange.

I thought the pic was fake when I saw it the first time. Mickey looks also weird, like someone put a fake beard on him

Photo looks to be from 68, most of them look about the same on the back cover photo of Anthem of the Sun.

According to dead.net, 11/1/67, from a photo shoot for Teen Set Magazine and Mickey's first official photo session with the band.

Fun to see Pigpen's hat making the rounds in that sequence.
