Preordered the 5lp single show set and will wait for the FLAC hi-res digital download for all the shows
I screwed up and ordered the digital download instead of the 20 CD version. I've contacted dead.net customer service and hope they can remedy it. I've never dealt with them before. Anyone here have experience dealing with them? How is their service? I'll be really miffed if they can't help me with this delimma.
I can't decide digital or box. LOVE their box sets. Bought the Pacific Box in a hurry, later wished I'd bought digital (DR a bit better), then the box never sold out.
Wow - the Fox Box arrives!!! Talk about a sweet spot. 12/9 was my 10th show . . . and we always felt like they played well here in St Louis, but what else did we know? I do know that they really enjoyed the theatre, and Lesh would search for the resonant frequencies of the hall to drop his bombs! He may even mention that on the first nite of '71.
Wow, now I need to decide if I really need this. I already have all of the albums on CD and the Magic Hollow set. Thanks for the heads up!
Oh, that doesn't sound good. In their faq regarding digital downloads they don't offer refunds, but since this is a preorder and haven't received my downloads, I think they can make an exception. What bugged me is that I clicked on the preorder link off the YouTube video and it took me to the digital download page. Argh!

I noticed. And that's why I'll probably get it. My top dozen essential Bay Area bands of the 60s: Beau Brummels Jefferson Airplane Grateful Dead Country Joe & The Fish Sly & The Family Stone Moby Grape Big Brother & The Holding Company/Janis Joplin solo Steve Miller Band Blue Cheer Creedence Clearwater Revival Quicksilver Messenger Service Santana Many other great ones, of course.
I hear you, but sometimes, those negative comments are completely warranted, especially when it comes to cost.

Erik, the E72 set was $8.75 per cd and this is 10 dollars per cd. But that $8.75 is $9.94 in 2021 dollars, and it is customary for things sold in greater bulk to be slightly cheaper. I think a fair assessment is that the price is pretty much the same.
I also don't think there is anything wrong with acknowledging $200 is expensive. Granted, it averages about $10 disc (not including packaging), but I don't think it is whining to bring up the price point.
I agree in the sense what was pointed out. a cd is usually $10 new these days. a 2 cd set around $16-$17 so they do charge less in bulk . maybe a labor day sale $180 for this box?
