That's sure to get pacificoceanblue to finally watch his copy of Sunshine Daydream. (I'm sure he knows about pole guy anyway). In all seriousness, for those who don't have the time it's very easy to just watch one or two highlights from a music blu-ray. I've been doing this for several years with The Last Waltz etc. (and you don't end up with the rewind/FF problems that say plagued my VHS copy of Rude Boy). The China>Rider is a must and obviously shorter than the Dark Star.
lots of goodies. i want to listen to the complete show each time despite being a disc three listener. the problem is i am not usually awake by that time of night or listening well
If you thought the bent box was cool, just wait for the pole box they are about to announce... This one will be large enough to fit at least a half dozen good shows in.
A terrific selection of Garcia/Hunter tunes. 13 of the 30 tracks for the show that night Bertha Deal Bird Song Sugaree Row Jimmy China Cat Sunflower Tennessee Jed Here Comes Sunshine Brown-eyed Women Black Peter He’s Gone Wharf Rat Casey Jones
Great photo I shall show it to Mrs Torch. I am not very knowledgeable on GD photos where and when is this from? Re the Pacific box it is a truly awesome package and product - I have kept the original shipping box for when we move. I did not get the vinyl set of one of the shows that came out around the same time. Is it worth picking up? Rhino vinyl is good but tends to be expensive in the UK.
I bought the LP set since I live here in Portland and also lived here in ‘74, so there’s a lot of sentimentality for me. Honestly though, since the LP set is digitally sourced and the same content is in the CD box set, I wouldn’t call it essential. More of a completist thing.
Has someone here from europe ever asked rhino.com if it is possible to buy the boxset via rhino.co.uk to lower the shipping costs and avoid custom costs?
The pole, "pre-guy": Seriously though, what is he standing on? I don't see any platform or anything. Maybe it's just out of view.
