Most of my ideas have already been mentioned here but I have to chime in with Roger Powell, Action/Mighty Baby drummer, Mani Neumeir of Guru Guru and today, and Jan Errico of Vejetables/Mojo Men. And for keifspoon, have you heard May Blitz's live Essen cd? Great Newman solo in Fire Queen!

Phil Gould. I usually hate groove and in the pocket stuff but Phil is phenomenal.

Robbie was great, AWB were never quite the same, Robbie had faster hands and a lighter touch than Steve Ferrone.

I came here to contribute the names Pick Withers and BJ Wilson and was happy to see people beat me to it in the first few pages.

    My work is done here.

Just listening to the one and only album by the group Fields from 1971 and drummer Andy McCulloch really shines here.

Another vote for Jim Gordon. I've been studying his playing for years now, and he was amazing, proficient, and prolific in the late 60s and 70s.

As an actively playing drummer who has played and followed rock and roll for over 45 years, I guess my reaction to most of these posts is "Forgotten? Not at all..." - but I have to think of things from the non-drummer perspective, which is foreign to me. So guys like Stan Lynch, Bev Bevan, Bun E. Carlos will of course never be in the "forgotten" category.

Another terrific player was Gary Mallaber, the guy who played all of those tasty licks on those classic Steve Miller songs.
