Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (Soundtrack) Vinyl (& CD) Pre-Order Acoustic Sounds *

I've been listening to the CD in the car and enjoying it. I didn't spend much money, and my car stereo isn't great, so it works for me.

 

Hopefully the next one will read, “This package contains all of the recently found audio tracks remixed and remastered!”.

Problem: If you were hoping for a soundtrack isolated from effects,
you'll be sorely disappointed. BUT it's better than what we had, nothing.

 

I’ve found two more colors of this release; Cracker Barrel has an exclusive orange vinyl edition, which apparently is on some store shelves already, and Barnes & Noble has an exclusive yellow moon edition, with a release date of September 9th.

The only thing that has stopped me from buying this on vinyl is having to flip the record every 9 minutes or so. Its just too short and considering the audio source of the material I am just fine with the CD.

 

From the description, it looks like all the content is on 1 side of the vinyl, with side B having etched art work.

 

Even better than way I wouldn't have to flip it over!

 

So what is the general consensus on what happened to the original master tapes, before the addition of sound effects? That they're out there mislabeled or collecting dust on the back of a high shelf somewhere? Or that they've been recorded over, damaged or destroyed?

 

Whoops! The B&N yellow moon colored vinyl release date is actually Sept. 6th.

 

There was a website about Vince that his family ran, and I can't seem to find it now. If I remember correctly, there was some talk on the forums there and Vince's son said that he didn't have it in his possession (though I can't remember if he said that it does exist and he just doesn't have it, or that they can't find it anywhere). I know that a few years back they found a recording somewhere that they forgot about so it could turn up at anytime!

 

The Cracker Barrel exclusive is indeed out. I was able to find a copy in the Baltimore area this afternoon!

 

I went to my local Cracker Barrel, but didn't see it, so I asked an employee and showed them a picture. They knew nothing about it, but checked in the back and didn't find any.

 

Remarkably pleased that Charlie Brown gets 9 pages of attention on the forum.
No better comic strip in my book and a brilliant insight into the human condition if read carefully.
If only Charles Schulz had lived forever....

Let us know how it sounds. $29.99 is pretty steep for a one sided LP. But if it sounds good, I'm too much of a Peanuts/Guaraldi fan to pass it up. Plus there's the whole chicken n' dumplin's thing....

 

I may not break it open for a little bit. You are right, I had sticker shock. They had two and I wanted to grab it as a gift but I passed at that price.

 

My thoughts as well.. picked up the glow-in-the-dark from craft even with their 15% first time discount it was still 25, I think it’s gone down a bit since I ordered it though.

 

Anyone have any experience with Craft? I can honestly say this is the first time I've heard of them, and subsequently the first time I've ordered from them.

 

They've been a mixed bag in my experience. Decent sound quality but hit or miss pressing quality. Their customer service has been excellent at making things right, though.
