Pizza was pretty vague, so I ran with it "greatest hits, best of type"

The Temptations "Anthology" was also a triple LP with about as perfect a track listing as you could create for the time period it covers.

This one had a very textured cover -- I remember being impressed by the (presumably) expensive paper. I also remember wondering why "FM" wasn't on it, though.

It's not explicitly stated, but I assumed he was speaking of vinyl albums that came in gatefold jackets. Back then, they had to be loaded with mostly genuine hits to warrant the higher price tag or they probably wouldn't sell well. With the amount of songs squeezed onto double and triple CD sets (even if they do come in a fatboy case), they would have to be boxed sets in the vinyl versions and probably not what the OP intended.

FM being 78 as well may have missed it. My Ludwig US x4 isn't textured. Didn't know one existed :)

Well that's what Pizza get's for not being more specific  , I still view an album as an album, not a format :)

They count in my book. And I mentioned best of types in my initial post.

Vague on purpose. I'm not trying to tie people's hands behind their backs. :D

No problem. I initially was going to make it vinyl albums only and then figured I'd leave it open to personal interpretation. And I know folks view greatest hits and best of's differently so I mentioned it in my first post.

Sort of a fiber-heavy paper that kinda looked canvas. Made the cover art look more like a painting or watercolor, I suppose.

Fairport Convention - History of Fairport Convention (I think this was a UK-only release from 1972, but I might be wrong [about the "UK-only" part])
Fairport Convention - Chronicles (US release, 1976)

I have both of these collections - however - each only scratches the surface. The 1976 release from the US also contains some solo Sandy Denny, and at least one track from "The Bunch".
