The reoccurring Who's Next thread makes me wonder what other bands had no foresight when it came to the digital era of google and searching by picking a name too simple for our computerized world.

Off the top of my head:

    The Who
    The Band
    The Faces
    Them
    Yes

As I found out (and noted in an earlier thread): Hamlet.

Just try finding anything on them...without coming up with Shakespeare's guy!

U2 on this forum. You have to search by band member names or songs/albums.

    Oh, and: The Move

And probably the British band, The Birds (not to be confused with The Byrds)

Record stores are confused about where to file this band's CDs too. I think most file it before A (the correct way, in my opinion), but some people file them under C because the most popular pronunciation of their name is "chk chk chk" (or "chk chik chick", according to the iTunes Music Store). This despite the band's own assertion that their name is simply any three syllables or sounds that you like. Ah well, being gimmicky always has some drawbacks.

Does A-ha work? I don't care, but I thought it was a lousy name, and computer software often disregards very short names.

It's nigh impossible to search for Dr. John or Take 6 on this forum! (But then searching for anything on this forum can sometimes be a bit of an adventure.)

There was a great band back in the '80s called Interview. Try typing that into a search engine and see what happens...you'll get tons of actual INTERVIEWS by other artists!
