I would pay too. In the past 24 hours both Convocation and DSKNT have posted images of their works in progress. Looking good and their last albums were DR9 for Covocation and DR7 for DSKNT. Something easy and pleasing to nod to and nod off to. A Sanity Deranged, by Nightfell Sept 13
Viva l'Italia The written blurb says there is a 23 year gap between the band's debut album and this. I interpret that negatively (no burning desire) but the song is kinda cool so I'll make catcalls at the passing office girls in the shadow of the careening tower of pasta. Tomb Mold article on Bandcamp. Vella adds: “I treat the band like we’re on borrowed time. There’s no guarantee we can keep doing this for years: we wanna crank out as much cool **** as possible before the wheels come off.” Or before “Heat Death” becomes a case of life imitating art. Tomb Mold On “Planetary Clairvoyance,” Alien Weaponry, and Metallica’s “St. Anger”
I love that. The perfect attitude. I forgot to say the Witch Vomit that Blayne mentioned in call outs is pretty good. Buried Deep In A Bottomless Grave, by Witch Vomit Aug 30 This may turn out to be a very merry Metal year after all. Summarized in this gif I'm stealing from Lenny because I love it.
Stream Tomb Mold's New Album In Full — Kerrang! I forgot they are from Toronto and I disparage the whole nation sometimes. "Over the last couple of years, I was tired of being a negative person. I was tired of being pissed about nothing, caring too much about the wrong things, and not [realizing] that there is joy to be had in each day." "When we finished the record, I sent it to a few people — my dad and Justin from Innumerable Forms — because I needed to know if it was good or not. Justin said, ‘This record is better than Manor. It doesn’t sound like Manor, but it sounds like Tomb Mold.’ My dad said, ‘This is the best thing you’ve ever done in your life.’ That felt great." I want the green upper left shirt.
The new Torche album (like their previous records) doesn’t fit neatly into most metal buckets, but the single is heavy enough for me!
Dug this one out of the Nero archives, pretty sure I haven't listened to this one in at least 15 years. Looking thru the cd insert, I had forgotten that Neil Kernon did this one!
Picked up the new 2019 reissue of In Flames - Colony (1999). Lost my original CD. It’s now been reissued in 2004, 2009, 2014, & 2019!
Been meaning to get into their stuff for ages. Not quite sure where to go next after their album with Full of Hell.
Hey! You're alive and well! I wondered if you'd been taken down by one of those Duck-billed Crocodil-koalas. Glad you're vertical. I know member Deuce66 mentioned them in another thread but I haven't been pounded into a board by them yet.
Sarah does Tomb Mold. I'll have to watch again and take notes as she references so many bands. I'm not the biggest fan of hers but I like her review. I've gotten in three spins of the album and I've made mental notes. Instrumentally, rhythmically it reminds me of Led Zeppelin IV side two (Misty Mountain, Four Sticks, Levee) not as a direct descendant but for being greatly superior to the mere mortals out there. That aspect is so good it makes the vocals seem dull. I've got a hunk of meat on the plate that was smoked 12 hours with hickory and maple and beside it a lump of instant mashed potatoes, serviceable but without a unique flavour. A beautiful 38 minutes and 38 seconds in length it goes by fast and unlike way too many albums finishes refreshingly with a terrific pair of songs. Even the one atmospheric track "Phosphorene Ultimate" is beautiful, eerie and not a bit awkward or awkwardly placed. Maybe rated the full 5 Grrrrr
