Among the gallery of mask wearing musicians this is the best. Blöthar of Gwar! Be safe friends. Although I had the albums I wanted the few singles and dropped $20 as band support for the whole ToV discography. From the 4 Doors to Death Vol. II compilation CD
I don't get the appeal of this band at all, I listened to the new one and it's just so generic, they aren't doing anything remotely fresh/creative.
I listened to two songs off this two days ago (Farahvang 10:30 & Fosil 32:36) and liked it enough. Now the full album is streaming. (Boy do I dislike the Dimmu Borgir part of the intro. And there's enough intro on the first proper track damn it). An Iranian band I'm hearing unusual instruments that if you told me were hybrid Zulu-Scottish-Aztec I'd nod thoughtfully and appreciatively. This is a C album (Grr) but there are really good bits strewn throughout.... Therefore you can't pick out a single song as best. No wonder I wasn't able to choose between the two songs two days ago. Nonetheless, it's a fun listen even when a song inexplicably fades to an end prematurely as "what the..." pops into your head and you smirk (18:00). Grr
I heard this two weeks ago and then I promptly lost it. Not that I was bothered at all as it was not better than acceptable. After a DSO style couple of minutes it has some very welcome bluesy lead solos before plunging back down into the black metal mire. Not out until August 21 I'll lose sight of this by 7pm tonight.
Yeah, for me it's a really tough call between 1980, 1983 and 1986. I still haven't decided! (leaning towards 1983 though)

Reminds me that I noticed I learn a ****load from the Banger longer videos like "Lock Horns". In the mid-80s I was unaware of whatever was not on FM. I remember it true like was mentioned about video shows being good to metal. It wasn't on the radio.
Much Music had the power hour at 4:00 PM and most FM rock stations would go heavy for an hour or two on Friday-Saturday nights. Believe it or not this clip features JD Roberts currently working at FOX in the US and looking much older. From interviewing Venom to working press at the White House.....
Shhhhh, we're quietly invading south remember. One comedian at a time. Awesome and amazing video. That the music clips within the interview were edited out I understand why but still it's a damn shame. Rectified later and at 10:54 "Black Metal" as a definition in response to a comparison with Motorhead. I noticed a lot of metal vocalists talk in a baritone. Baritone is there within the range heard. A lot of bottom-end to their speaking voice. Great live climax ending to the interview. Never saw that before. Cool.
Here’s a really cool Facebook page for the Pepsi Power Hour. Tons of archived interviews, band specials and videos. Pepsi Power Hour Also check out the list of band interviews from the Power Hour (and later Power 30). We were spoiled back then to have a daily metal video show this good Pepsi Power Hour & Power 30 (MuchMusic Canada)
