and if you do find it, it's a 50th generation knock off of the early 90's stuff so what's the point? might as well listen to the "classics", hard to believe those albums are approaching their 30th anniversary
Palate cleanse because I had this stubbornly stuck in my head at one point today. Just like that Rush cover it's always Ozzy time. Especially lately since I keep thinking that the blessed old buzzard might not be long for this world. I thought the genius of the song is really articulated by the cover and that is why it stuck so firmly, the genius. As astonishing as the original was/is it is very 1980 (classic Sabbath is not dated for me). Forty years of perspective should result in a viable cover. This 2020 reading has mental health awareness. That blows my mind, 40 years. I was automatically writing "30 years" when I caught myself. I've also started listening to Chelsea Wolfe from the most recent.
I looked on youtube for this 1994 compilation but no luck. A search of "Earache Presents - Earplugged" resulted in a single song, which isn't on the comp. Ha! Various - Earplugged 1 –Entombed Out Of Hand 2 –Cathedral Midnight Mountain 3 –Napalm Death Plague Rages 4 –Godflesh Xnoybis 5 –Bolt Thrower ...For Victory 6 –Carcass Embodiment 7 –Brutal Truth Choice Of A New Generation 8 –Cathedral Ride 9 –Napalm Death State Of Mind 10 –Entombed Wolverine Blues 11 –Godflesh Anything Is Mine 12 –Bolt Thrower When Glory Beckons 13 –Brutal Truth Displacement 14 –Carcass No Love Lost

You are the historian. That video is beautiful stuff. Reminds me of how much I liked my Mitsubishi "Hifi" VCR.
Some very solid blackened thrash. The opening track "Holy Hell" has a killer ending. October 9 Mindnumbing Pleasure, by Loud Night
Black Metal's nerdy little brother, post-metal/shoe-gaze, and the often uniform screaminess aren't what I seek but I'm also compelled to check out releases. This seems quality stuff that could grow on me. The saving grace being it gets fairly heavy at times. September 25
Again outside my usual diet this post-black metal and also high quality it seems to me. I dig the minimalist video too.

Obituary will have a new album in the first half of 2021. As the poster below says, they'll be playing live three albums in full. I thought it was free until I got to the bottom of the poster. Do I feel naïve! I don't believe this single from 2019 was ever posted here. I'm usually good at remembering visuals.
Cast my line down into the Mariana Trench of Youtube and pulled up this pair of beautiful black songs from 2016. A look-see and they have a new album coming in November.
Akhlys have a new album coming if you like big production numbers. I don't know how else to describe it. Melinoë, by Akhlys December 14
^^^^^^ Utter Love Did these guys make a video for every song? I really dig their singular vision. Is it a stereotype to think French artists might be more independent and experimental? That's a Banger question, regional signatures. I always try to avoid all info when listening to anything. Only later investigating. I operate best when as ignorant as possible. Out today.
Dark and heavy, this is serious music. I thought it like a slower, less brutal Nile. I tried it briefly some weeks ago and didn't care for it. It was the cover art which had me give a listen a second and third time. I'm going to buy it. The thumbnail had me think of Francis Bacon. I thought the hand was teeth. The artist's name is Samuel Araya. Conduit, by Proscription September 24 Great video game bosses!
Great live band, should be awesome. Speaking of live streams, man I am hoping for a bluray of that Behemoth one, that was amazing stuff. Can't wait, I liked the ep they released early in the year which had the title track. Cover art is amazing. Amazing art!!!! Fight Fire with Fire: 'Apocalyptic Raids' vs. 'Bathory' | Decibel Magazine
