Love that band! Two amazing albums, but the first one especially is real craftsmanship. They're really good! Vexovoid in particular. I'm not sure why they're getting compared to Artificial Brain, though, which sounds completely different to me.

I guess this is War Metal. I puzzled over it trying to decide if I wanted it or not. Like a really ugly stray dog that has some charms I decided to let the Chilean Battle Hound into the house. Two pieces of vital information I've picked up over the past 24 hours are that thanks to Zdzislaw Beksinski my long held suspicion has been confirmed that I have the most boring full name on the planet and that Icelandic horses have great hair.
The reason the horses above got trotted out was that I was looking at general information about Iceland (that's not a reason!). How can a nation of 332,529 produce so much music? And other icy questions. I returned to the Hamferð album and in looking up info saw that they were from the population of 50,322 Faeroe Islands, neighbours of Iceland. I, Canadianus Ignoramus, wasn't aware of the location. Then I saw that Canadian guy review the album in his distinctive style. I'll just leave it with him. (He didn't know where the Faeroe Islands were either).
Iceland is my new spirit country. So many great bands from there right! Kontinuum - Í Huldusal (Single)
Finished the Gorgoroth discography yesterday. Really dug it. Some great stuff there. Looking ahead to live shows in March from Septicflesh, Watain, and Buckethead. No idea what I'll spin next... maybe Beherit...
Very compelling band. Thanks! Iceland and Japan would be my top two places to visit. I watched "Blade of the Immortal" (2017) last night and enjoyed it. The 100th film by Takashi Miike. I looked at a trailer but won't post as it tells the whole damn story. Serious acupuncture for that nagging back ache.
At least there was a logical reason why one man could take on 50. Or was it 50,000? Surely someone will attempt a body count. That is superior stuff! I listened to it to the end. Since when is 45 minutes an EP? Kids these days! Today I learned I'm to be the godfather for a friend's new bouncing boy. I was actively wondering what is appropriate attire for such an occasion and like divine intervention there in the mailbox was the answer!
When playing this album I find myself addicted to this guy's deep clean vocals which come in at 2:51. Such a beautiful voice. Again, thankfully there are lyrics on screen.
Here's one I was just linked today. Somewhat reminiscent of recent multi-disc albums (particularly the last Swallow the Sun effort, which I'm still slowly digesting two years later), the first disc is a bit more 'traditional' death/doom, and disc 2 is a lighter affair in the vein of Opeth's Damnation. Really well written all around, though, and certainly less monotonous than some others in the genre. I started with the song "Fall-Dyed Lament" at a friend's suggestion and was instantly into it. Among The Lightened Skies The Voidness Flashed, by Woe Unto Me
Being at the very end of the night I failed to heed your advice and began at the beginning and instantly knew I couldn't possibly process this in my diminished state. Now the next morning and "Fall-Dyed Lament" it is.
Checking this one out right now. About 10 minutes in and I'm really liking the atmosphere of it. Sounds to be a winner {winner = wallet drainer}.
