    200 Motels was bad.

Cold Eyes of Fear, a 2nd or 3rd tier giallo, was bad.

Caligula II: Messalina, Messalina (yes it exists) was bad.

Dishonorable mention goes to a movie that came out I believe in the early 90s that had Danny DeVito in it as some kind of movie producer who walked around with a pony tail. I looked on his imdb but I couldn't quite find a movie that matched up to that description, but it was horrible.

And, this gives it even more qualification as one of the worst. When you have garbage like this, no one should ever be picking on b movies and low budget films.

If by worst you mean incompetent it has to be Plan 9 From Outer Space. Also an amazing enjoyable movie.

If by worst you mean an un-enjoyable experience Bad Times at the El Royale. One of the few movies I've walked out of.

HArd to say I "enjoyed" it, but it's a very well-made film with very good acting. It should be very far from anyone's "worst list."

I judge films not on large or small budgets, but on what is achieved.

A case in point are some of the films of Edgar G. Ulmer. Starting out at Universal, he was best known for The Black Cat, an excellent & very creepy horror film. He soon moved down to the Poverty Row studio Producers Releasing Corporation, (PRC). due to a scandal he was involved in at Universal.

At PRC, he gave us the somewhat flawed, but very interesting & well made Bluebeard, a nice combo of horror & film noir, & the absolutely excellent noir Detour. Both films belied their miniscule budgets, quick shooting schedules & threadbare production values, & showed the same steady hand & personal style at directing that he'd graced us on screen with The Black Cat.

A couple of even later films are extremely rough going however. The Daughter Of Dr Jekyll & The Amazing Transparent Man. Poorly staged, with terrible scripts, inept acting, bad special effects, & none of the personal style of Ulmer. These are literally pathetic & abysmal little "wet farts" of movies, & are among the worst I've ever seen. The 1st film had a slightly higher budget, (in relation to the eras), than his PRC work, the 2nd one was about on par with the budgets he labored under at PRC. Neither are worth more than a single viewing, if that.

I agree, but I think if you spend obscene amounts of money, have good actors, direction, and story, but you achieve nothing that is much worse.

Oh I fully understand that, just as when somebody like Tobe Hooper overcomes the low budget "ghetto" with something like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which despite anyone's personal feelings about the film or it's genre, is a veritable masterpiece on many levels. And, it's even more astounding since Hooper never made anything as brilliant again, even with much larger budgets in some cases. it was like that film was the best he had in him. I do have a deep fondness for the 1st sequel, which he also directed, because having gone as far in scaring people as the original did, with minimal gore, (despite it's reputation), he knew he couldn't top it. So, he went in the opposite direction, with an extremely dark & very gory black comedy. The sequel's critical appraisal has actually gone up from the initial drubbing it got from critics in the 80s.

Unintentionally hilarious, though, the way some extremely bad movies are.

    He's also in ' Hangman ' , a terrible movie.
I swear Pacino read his lines for the first time about a minute before each scene.

  22. Actually, no. I mean, at least the cameras were in focus. And the story, for all its flaws, generally holds together.
