Curious to hear your thoughts on Rust, the new one. I don't think we'll agree, since I think Vænir is, by far, the best thing they've ever done - but I'm interested to hear how you'd compare it to Empress Rising.

Unless I read some stellar review, I wont be buying Rust. Never downloaded anything so its either physical copy or nought. Vaenir had "the sound" but for me, even after plenty of listens it still just seemed forgettable, nothing stuck with me

I think "Migration" by BURIED AT SEA will be looked back on as one of the cornerstones of the genre...

This Bell Witch is amazing, easily a top ten record of the year irregardless of genre. As much as I loved Four Phantoms, I had my doubts about an 83 minute song working, but it really, really does. Incredibly gorgeous.

They are great. The guitarist/ singer died last week. He was only 26. Sad.

I'll second SubRosa and Bell Witch. And though they aren't at the low and slow end of doom, Messa is great, too.

Ocean is a band that I don't think have been mentioned. Pantheon of the Lesser is a BEAST! This massive track features Bloody Panda's Yoshiko Ohara on guest vokills:
